<Before surgery. A nose with many issues: bulbous nose + hump nose + arrow-shaped nose;><After surgery with no implant + autologous costal cartilage + hump correction + bulbous nose correction + arrow-shaped nose correction + osteotomy.>Is there ever just one reason to get surgery.... Every time I saw my bulbous nose + hump + drooping nose, it bothered me so much..... So I got surgery First of all, I had never even had any procedures done, so my knowledge about rhinoplasty was pretty shallow. Whenever I heard explanations about rib cartilage, I felt kind of resistant, especially autologous costal cartilage,, At that time, wherever I went, I said I wanted donated rib cartilage My needs weren’t for a flashy nose, so I said I wanted no implant. You know how much techniques have advanced these days. So I went around to consultations with some expectations, but they just drew a nose diagram on a tablet and that was it..... While I was feeling disappointed, I found one place that did a postoperative predictive design + no implant + matched well with the director’s style. Ah,,, lol but I guess there’s no clinic that’s 100% exactly to my liking. Even after considering everything, they said autologous costal cartilage would be better. They said that when they operate once, they really want to give the patient a result that feels like the final one, so they use the most ideal material.... I was seriously conflicted,, and even thought, should I just not get surgery? But I knew that if I kept thinking about it, I’d obviously just keep going to more consultations, so I got the surgery. I wouldn’t have done it if this place had just pressured me to do autologous costal cartilage either;; They had an autologous costal cartilage guarantee system, and they said they would refund me if the nasal tip dropped, so that felt somewhat trustworthy And this was also the first place that took an X-ray for me. I saw the shape of my own bones for the first time in my life; But what I can say for sure is,,, everyone,, rhinoplasty is the real deal^^ No matter how much other people say autologous costal cartilage doesn’t hurt;; recovery is fast;; it varies by person, so for you it could take longer and hurt more. For me too, the nose that was actually opened up for surgery didn’t hurt much, but on the day of surgery, the area where the autologous costal cartilage was harvested hurt so much,,, It was so bad that the day after surgery I urgently bought a body pillow from Coupang and slept hugging it,,, I even contacted the consultant and whined, asking if this was normal,, Thinking about it now, I feel like I was being way too dramatic. It got better after 3 days The director also checked on me really thoroughly at every follow-up,, and I was grateful that both of them handled my soft-hearted personality so well,, Before surgery, I suffered so much emotionally over whether to use autologous costal cartilage or not But now I think I made the right choice going with autologous costal cartilage,, and I can proudly say there will be no more surgeries in my life where my nose has to be opened up^^ I’m rooting for everyone to finish it with their first surgery too.
