It’s been 1 year since I had lens implant surgery. I had it done at a hospital in Busan. I went with my dad, and my father had lens implant surgery too. He said he could see well afterward and strongly recommended it to me, so while I was taking time off from work, he really urged me to get it done quickly. I did want to get LASEK, but since I had high myopia, they would have had to remove too much corneal tissue in that case, so they recommended lens implant surgery. The cost was in the 5 million won range, and you have to be careful for about a month. You have to sleep lying on your back and not rub your eyes. For about 2 weeks my eyes were a bit dry, and for about a week it felt like the pressure in my eyes was somehow going up. These days, it still feels like my intraocular pressure rises occasionally, but it has gotten better. I’m not sure about glare/halos. Maybe because I don’t look at lights much in the evening. As for things like glare/halos, I think the phenomenon where lights looked like rings was pretty bad for about 2 months... Now it’s been 1 year, and other than my eyes becoming a bit dry, I think it’s okay. But since lenses have been implanted in my eyes, I do worry about how long I’ll be able to use these lenses, and I’m concerned about things like glaucoma and cataracts.. lol Anyway, now I don’t wear contact lenses when going to work, so I really like that. My eyes are definitely less dry than when I wore contacts. When I wore contacts, I had to wear them for long hours at work, so it was really uncomfortable ㅜㅜㅜ dry and gritty. I think it’s a surgery worth recommending for people with high myopia who wear contacts for a long time!
