I’m in my late 30s! I originally had double eyelids, but my right double eyelid kept turning into multiple overlapping double eyelids, so around 2018? my younger sibling said they were getting double eyelid surgery with the buried-suture method, and I got it done together with them. And from around 2024? my right double eyelid^^ started becoming layered double eyelids again like clockwork, and since I happened to be unemployed, I decided to take the plunge and research revision double eyelid surgery + lower eyelid fat repositioning while I was at it, and ended up here..! Since I’m from out of town + it’s a revision surgery, I figured I should make the trip worth it and went to five places on weekdaysㅎ.ㅎ My criteria for choosing hospitals were excluding factory-style places, and I mostly searched for doctors with long experience? Let’s look at this out-of-towner’s in-person consultation review
My eye conditions -Revision surgery -Protruding eyes -Canthoplasty not possible due to my eye structureㅠㅠ
+At all the hospitals I visited, the consultants didn’t draw my line for me or anything, and there wasn’t much pressure to book. So I won’t write about consultant friendliness and stuff like that +All prices include lower eyelid fat repositioning!
1. ㅇㅇㅅ -Consultation fee 10,000 won -3 surgeries per day -Prices listed on the website - no pressure to write reviews -Consultation order: consultant-doctor-consultant / photos taken before consultation -Wait time 15 minutes? -Doctor consultation: My eyes are protruding, and after checking whether I open my eyes using my forehead, said ptosis correction is essential, and incision is absolutely necessary. A high line is not possible because it will definitely become sausage-like. Lower eyelid fat repositioning does seem necessary. But lower eyelid fat repositioning + double eyelid surgery can’t be done together. They have to be done with a 3-month gapㅇㅇ But the doctor was kind of mumbling to himself, so honestly I couldn’t really understand well.. I’m a huge wimp, so I had been thinking of doing double eyelid surgery + lower eyelid fat repositioning together, but a 3-month gap was too much for me, and the cost was big too.. So I passed.
2. ㅇㅇㄹㅅ -Consultation fee x -Price 4 million, 4.5 million? No pressure to write reviews -Consultant-doctor-consultant order / no photos -Wait time 10 minutes? -Doctor consultation: The consultation was really detailed, and he checked everything one by one with a ruler. I think he looked for about 15-20 minutes. Same as above, because my eye-opening strength is weak, ptosis correction is needed, a high line is absolutely not possible.. he strongly recommended incision, and said my eyes were kind of a total mess. He seemed regretful, saying, why didn’t they do ptosis correction during the first surgery when your eye-opening strength was weak?? Then you wouldn’t have needed revision surgeryㅠㅠ.. He didn’t confidently say that even with incision it won’t come undone, and said eyes that loosen will loosen (which is natural), so that part was a bit disappointing. The consultation itself was really easy to understand though.. After the doctor consultation ended and I moved on to the consultant, she said he had left a note saying buried-suture would also be okay?? Hmm?? That also made me go huh, so for now I moved on to the next consultation ㄱㄱ
3. ㅋㄷ -Consultation fee x -Price 6 million~ (if they can use my photos for promotion, they’ll go down to 4.04 millionㅎㅎ) -Consultation after photo-taking -Doctor consultation: It’s a plastic surgery clinic that hasn’t opened yet! Scheduled to open in early June. I got sold by the doctor’s writing on Threads and went for a consultation during the pre-opening period, and the doctor explained things well. I think the consultation was almost 20 minutes?! But they say the doctor is famous for rhinoplasty, so I felt uneasy and asked the consultant, and she explained that since people usually do eyes and nose together, if he’s good at noses, he naturally becomes good at eyes too.. Old people like me don’t know that kind of thing..ㅠㅠ But same as the two above, he recommended ptosis correction (that damned eye-opening strengthㅠㅠ!) + no excessive line, incision + lower eyelid fat repositioning + under-eye fat grafting..! He said he does under-eye fat grafting without overdoing it, but when I asked if I could skip it, he said it absolutely has to be done togetherㅠㅠ I’ve personally seen way too many posts saying not to do under-eye fat grafting, so I’m scared of it and don’t want to do it, so I’m keeping this one on hold for now..
4. ㅂㅇㅇ -Was there a consultation fee? I can’t rememberㅠㅠ -Price 4.04 million (must write a reviewㅇㅇ) -No photos -There was a doctor specializing in eyes and a doctor specializing in noses, and I consulted with the eye doctor -Doctor consultation: From my online research, they said he specializes in revision eye surgery, so I forced it into my consultation route with a 1-hour gap and got the consultation. He spoke very softly and calmly, so it didn’t really sink in.. The explanation was ASMR-level, and he seems like a calm person. Same thing: ptosis correction.. + no excessive line, incision yes + lower eyelid fat repositioning. That’s how he assessed it! Seeing as I don’t remember it well..ㅠㅡㅠ
5. ㅇㅇㅋㅌ -Consultation fee x -Price 4 million (must write a review) -Photos o Doctor consultation: Naturally, ptosis correction + not flashy, incision yes + upper eyelid fat repositioning + lower eyelid fat repositioning. Since places 1 and 2 had judged my eyes as a total mess, I was feeling down, but he said, there are many eyes worse than yours, yours aren’t that badㅎㅎ and tried various lines for me. Of course he said if I go flashy it’ll become sausage-like and that’s not possible; anyway, after my first eye surgery, the line lasted 6? 7? years, and your eye-opening strength isn’t that strong, but it isn’t good either, so you need ptosis correction! I think ptosis correction + non-incisional surgery may be possible too, want to try? I can tie it well for you! That’s what he said. But he also said, anyway, incision can loosen too, and there’s no helping that buried-suture loosens more easily! That’s your choice, but I think I can do buried-suture tooㅎㅎ. He explained everything and said he’d take questions, so I had nothing to ask.. But among the five places, I liked this doctor’s consultation the most and felt like we might be a good fit, so I went ahead and paid the deposit..ㅎㅎ;
Anyway, this is my in-person review of five places, but now that I’ve put down a deposit, I’m wondering if this is right. Still in anxious mode as an ISFP So, anyone who has done it at ㅇㅇㅋㅌ, please leave a comment.. I’m a huge wimp, so I wanted to just hurt once! That’s why I excluded no. 1, where I’d have to have surgery twice. It was also the most expensive.. No. 2 doctor’s consultation was thorough and I liked it, but “your eyes are a total mess” hurt my feelings.. No. 3 doctor’s consultation was also pleasant, but the under-eye fat grafting bothered me.. No. 4 doctor’s consultation didn’t stay in my memory.. It was also shortㅠㅠ
If even one place had given a different diagnosis? I might have felt unsettled, but honestly all five places uniformly recommended ptosis correction + not flashy + mostly incision, so I was so sad..ㅠㅠ This is why you need to be born with good eyes!! While I was at it, I wanted canthoplasty for my small, clam-shaped eyes, but because of my anatomy, no one recommended canthoplasty. I’ve never had canthoplasty, but the red part is already visible in the front, and there’s bone right behind;; It’s because there’s no space ㅠㅡㅠ
The deposit can be canceled until next week, so I’m thinking maybe I should visit a few more places for revision surgery, but then again, all five places said the same thing, so what would change.... hahaha.... Anyway, this out-of-town older person’s revision double eyelid consultation is over..! If I end up going to several more places next week, I’ll leave another review..
