The method I had for my first surgery was an old method, and he explained in a way I could understand how contracture could develop because of that method. My nose had contracted a little and had become slightly upturned, but since I have some midface length, he said it would be okay to finish the lower part short without making the columella too long. Or he suggested an alternative where the starting point of the nose could be lowered to get rid of the upturned feeling while not making the midface look long. I definitely recommend getting a consultation at least once!!
