Review of a clinic from this community

If you click my nickname and look at the reviews I wrote before, you'll know, but I'm someone who had suffered from sausage eyes for a very long time. I had my first surgery at a large clinic and it was completely botched. After a revision, my eyes became somewhat human-looking, but they were still asymmetrical, so I had a third surgery at the same place as the revision clinic. I had been living satisfied after that, but after getting a forehead lift, my double-eyelid line became high again, so I started looking into a fourth revision. I'm now one month post-op from surgery at this clinic, and I think I've finished the last double-eyelid surgery of my life. When surgery goes well, strangely, I don't feel like writing a review, but still, because I wanted to help people who had suffered like me + because I felt grateful, I intentionally logged back into this community and am writing a review. During the consultation, the doctor was really blunt. He sighed, saying that I had had a forehead lift and multiple double-eyelid revisions in my 20s. He didn't separately draw a double-eyelid line for me, answered my questions unfriendly, and seemed to try to end the consultation early. What he emphasized enough to write in large letters on the consultation record was, "It won't get worse. But it may not improve." He told me several times not to expect improvement. I thought, if it might not improve, why get surgery? But because I have extremely difficult eyes, I actually liked that the doctor predicted the result so conservatively. The conversation with the consultant was not satisfactory at all either, and the estimate was high. The consultant had no intention at all of discussing me or my eyes with me. Despite that, the first reason I chose this hospital was because of the surgical method. Other hospitals recommended the two-line excision technique, but I thought my eyes were absolutely not the kind that would do well with two-line excision. I judged that the method they use here, making an incision along the existing line and lowering the fixation, was what I needed. The second reason was that reviews from other communities gave me confidence in the director's skill. So because I desperately wanted to escape sausage eyes, I proceeded with surgery despite the director saying, 'There may be no improvement.' I think I saw a few cases where people were turned away at consultation, so I felt relieved that I wasn't turned away. There is no review discount, but there is a cash discount, and they told me to withdraw cash and bring it in person, so honestly I did not view that positively. On the day of surgery, I went in, and the director treated me very kindly, completely different from how he had been during the consultation. It seems he has a belief that he is kind only to his own patients. I was also a bit uncomfortable with the director suddenly changing his attitude like flipping his palm and treating me kindly. You might ask what I was unhappy about even though he was being kind, but thinking about the reason, I think it was because I had been hurt during consultations at other hospitals too. I tend to be very dramatic about pain, and since they do not use sedation anesthesia at all and proceed only with local anesthesia, I was extremely nervous, but the anesthetic injections did not hurt at all. It was surprising. During surgery, the director comforted me a lot. He really tried to put me at ease. I had only one eye done, and the surgery took about 50 minutes. The pain was about 1 out of 1 to 10. Of the 50 minutes of surgery time, the design right before surgery took quite a long time. During consultation, he hadn't even held a line once, but I could feel that he put real effort into setting the line. During the surgery, he kept making me close and open my eyes. I think he had me do it more than 20 to 30 times, and in the middle, he raised the chair about twice to have me sit up and checked the condition of my eyes then too. After the surgery ended, since I hadn't had sedation anesthesia, I was guided to the recovery room fully awake and looked in the mirror, and I was just so moved. Since this was my fourth double-eyelid surgery, I had had double-eyelid surgery so many times that I was honestly sick of it, but maybe the swelling I had had a lot of before was from bleeding during long surgery times + perhaps sedation anesthesia (I don't know). There was so little swelling that it was hard to believe I had just had surgery, and the high line had come down naturally and seamlessly. It was just pure emotion.... Somehow all the sadness I had felt, the things I had worried about, and the time I had been stressed because of sausage eyes all melted away, and I even felt comforted. I'm not exaggerating; I think anyone who has had their eyes ruined like me can understand this feeling. The most important thing: the surgical result. Before surgery, I vaguely worried that if the line fixation was released, maybe the double eyelid would disappear, but the thing I worried about did not happen at all. Rather, during the 7-day recovery period after surgery, in the mornings when I woke up, I was tormented by anxiety that a multiple double-eyelid crease might briefly form when I closed and opened my eyes, but once 7 days passed, the line settled completely, so no multiple double eyelid formed. As the fixation strength became lower, when I close and open my eyes it became natural like a natural double eyelid, so now the eye that had surgery is more natural than the eye that did not have surgery this time. (The line is not deeply set.) When I show people around me, they get confused about which eye had surgery. And surprisingly, both eyes became completely symmetrical... Even though he said there might be no improvement, he achieved such an amazing improvement, and I am truly, truly grateful. After searching a lot, I want to praise myself for doing very well by going to an old, well-known plastic surgery clinic rather than a flashy one. I don't know about other cases, but I hope people who have suffered from sausage eyes will definitely go check it out. Director Shim Sang-baek, thank you so much.
