How does everyone manage their surgical scars? It’s been 3 years for me, but it’s still faintly there. If someone sees it, it might not seem like a big deal, but every time I wear a swimsuit, I have to explain where it is until my mouth hurts, and I end up making ridiculous excuses like I scratched myself somewhere or pretending I fell. I’ve applied ointment and tried putting on tape, but if I don’t keep it up consistently, it shows, and if it gets any sunlight, it darkens again. I’m thinking about laser now, but the money and time don’t work out the way I want. I seriously feel like I may just have to live with my scar forever. How do you manage it?
