At other hospitals where I had surgery up to now, I tried rhinoplasty multiple times using all kinds of available materials and surgical methods, including silicone, septal cartilage, ear cartilage, costal cartilage, and autologous dermis. Every time I had nose surgery, I hoped it would be my last. I only went to Gangnam hospitals that I had carefully selected and that were famous for revision rhinoplasty, but every time, I kept failing because of unsatisfactory results and contractureㅠㅠ I lost so much money and also lost a lot of confidence, and despite people around me trying to stop me, I kept going through with surgeries~ Recovery after surgery was also so difficult. Because of that, I feel like I spent nearly 10 years just on nose surgeryㅠ With the feeling of grasping at straws, I wanted to find a highly skilled doctor, and just then, through a recommendation from an ENT director I came to know, I booked a consultation and visited. The director gave me a very thorough consultation, and from the very first words, I was drawn to their mindset. Instinctively, I felt, this is the place! Even from the consultation, there was a clear difference from the previous hospitals. After looking at my condition, they said revision rhinoplasty is a surgery where you really have to approach it with the mindset of returning everything back to its original, proper position and solving the problems, but sadly, in my case, none of the root causes had been addressed, and this was the result of patchwork-style fixes every time I had surgeryㅠ They said both my septum and columella were severely damaged, and because of contracture, there was no stable support structure to bear the load of the nasal tip. The donated costal cartilage had all been absorbed, with less than half remaining, and it was severely sunken. At other hospitals, it was at the level where consultants made diagnoses and even handled consultations, but here, the director personally handled everything thoroughly from beginning to end, so I trusted them from that point on. Since I was physically and mentally very worn down, they also helped take care of my mental state, so I was able to stay strong. As expected, the surgery was not easy. Because of multiple previous surgeries, the normal tissues were severely damaged, especially the septal cartilage, and because of that, the stability of the nasal tip had decreased. Ultimately, due to overall contracture, septal reconstruction was performed. With correction of nostril asymmetry, correction to lower the nostrils, replacement of the nasal bridge implant, and so on, it has only been one month now, so I plan to watch it with patience. But seeing it gradually settle into place and become more natural, I am so satisfied, and only now do I feel relieved enough to write a review. All the problematic areas have improved, and the side effects, contracture, and the areas that looked crooked have also improved a lot, so I am very satisfied. For everyone in a similar situation to me, what I felt is that especially in revision rhinoplasty, a very cautious and professional approach is needed, with an experienced specialist. Rather than simply following trends, I think it is important to find the nose shape that suits me best, safely and without overdoing it.
