I finished taking the one-month prescription of Rizaben, so today I went to get another one-month prescription. I was going to take it for only one month and stop, but I think I need to take it for one more month. While getting the Rizaben prescription, I also bought minerals. Until now I had only been taking vitamin D and C, but they said minerals are good too. They said it is fine to take all three together. Anyway... cutting to the chase~ Getting to the main point... ㅠㅠ I am a bit worried.. Since I went to the ENT today.. I said I wanted to get a CT scan. I was a little worried after having my septal cartilage removed.. I was afraid my nose might collapse, (by collapsing, I mean the nose suddenly drooping down or getting crushed... collapsing weakly) or that later there might be a problem with the shape.. I went partly to ask about that too. First, the doctor looked at the condition of my nose.. carefully... If I touch the columella between my nostrils.. something bulging can be felt inside the right side of the columella.. They checked whether this was cartilage sticking out... and looked at the overall swelling and condition of my nose. Fortunately, the inside of the columella was not protruding cartilage, and they said it was indeed scar tissue. On top of that.. they said the nasal tip still has a lot of swelling. I thought that since a month and a half had passed... almost all of it had gone down.. But they said not at all... And after touching it, they said it has not healed completely yet... So.. it is still swollen.. If you touch the nasal tip...(the nasal bulb above the columella), they said you should normally feel the cartilage... you should feel the line dividing the middle, but when they touched it, they could not feel it at all... That means it is swollen.. When I touched it myself.. it really was like that... Even if it seems healed, it is not complete... so they said I need to wait longer... So I bought minerals additionally and decided to take Rizaben for longer.. I keep going off topic.. But.. the problem is... When I said I wanted to check with CT whether there was any problem with my nose, they said there is no point right now.. They said it should be checked after 6 months.. Only after 6 months will the complete nose shape come out and it will be fully healed.... Only then can they check the overall cartilage condition of the nose and know whether it will collapse or not.. In most cases it does not collapse.. But still.. they said it can happen... By collapsing, rather than meaning the nose becomes almost nonexistent, it means that over 6 months, the area where the nasal cartilage was removed and the surrounding areas... the cartilages that were cut with a knife and worked on settle into place well... and at 6 months, the shape is set exactly... If a CT scan after 6 months shows no problem with the cartilage condition or nose shape, then even after several years there will be no problem at all, they said.. They said I do not need to worry about collapsing or anything.. But... during those 6 months, the area where cartilage was removed can weaken, and as its strength weakens... within 6 months.. the entire nasal cartilage can become crooked.. or because it lacks strength, the whole nose can droop or become crooked.. They said that can happen.. So they said it needs to be observed for 6 months.. They said it is meaningless to talk about the nose condition after just one or two months..ㅠㅠ They said there are people whose nose looks strange now but is fine after 6 months.. and people whose nose is fine now but becomes strange after 6 months.. They said to watch it a little longer... Instead.. At the 6-month point, if there is no problem with the nose shape or cartilage condition, then after that it will not be a problem at all, they said.. Still, the fortunate thing is... compared to the nose condition they saw when I visited the ENT a month ago, the current condition of my nose does not seem to have changed much... so they said it should be okay.. And... occasionally, there are cases where the nostril cartilage is touched.. In that case, they said there are many deformities... after removal.. But since the nostril cartilage was not touched, it should be okay.. Still... they said you never know.. so they want to take a CT at the 6-month point. Not now..ㅠㅠ Sob sob.. Anyway.. it was my first time learning that there is cartilage in the nostrils too.. Turns out, except for the bridge area, the entire nose is made of cartilage.... I am worried... Until 6 months... I have to live anxiously.. ㅠㅠ... Still, if there is no degree of deformity during that time, they say there is almost no problem.... Those of you who are a few months in now... if there is no problem, it will probably be okay after 6 months too, and if it is okay after 6 months, there will be no problem at all afterward... so please manage it really well for 6 months. That is why I am leaving this post... So you do not feel upset just because the current shape looks strange. They said you should not think it will all heal in one or two months.. I thought my nose had fully healed too. Because it barely hurt and was soft too.. But they said it still has not...ㅠㅠ So take good care of it... and at the 6-month point after removal, definitely get a CT scan too.. But... still.. the surgeon probably did not remove it in a way that would make the nose collapse, right.. Still... we do not know how the removed area will adhere, so if I watch it carefully and manage it well for just 6 months, after that it should get better..... Everyone... please keep this in mind... If I get more information, I will share it~~ Let us stay strong... Right now.. more than my family.. the people in this community are what keep me going..ㅠㅠ Sob sob
