It has been one month since I had revision surgery after 10 years using donated costal cartilage + ear cartilage. My first nose surgery was in Busan when I was 18. At the time, I was worried I’d look “overdone,” so I asked for it to be absolutely natural, and they really made it exactly as natural as I asked, so there was no obvious sign at all and I lived like that for over 10 yearsㅠㅠ But since college I kept wanting revision surgery, but as a student I had no money, and after becoming an office worker I had no time... At some point, I half gave up, thinking how much could it really change even if I did revision surgeryㅠㅠㅎ Then recently, while traveling, I saw a photo taken of my side profile, and it seriously looked like it had been pressed down with a hotteok press... I was so shocked that I decided on surgery right awayㅠ My criteria when choosing a hospital were > 1. Not factory-style ❌ (I dislike crowded, mechanical atmospheres) 2. Experience + skill ✅ (because a second revision would be too risky) 3. Reasonable price (no pressuring this and that, no added fees) 4. A place where the representative director personally performs the surgery! Rather than visiting many places in person, I mostly searched online, reading reviews over and over and over... I separately organized only the reviews I liked and collected them like data lol. That’s how I found this plastic surgery clinic, and when I went for a consultation, it had exactly the atmosphere I wanted. The consultant and staff were all genuinely kind, and especially the director personally drew pictures while explaining one by one what materials would be used and what the surgical direction would be. No matter how many questions I asked, he answered them sincerely. I already had a 4 mm silicone implant on the bridge of my nose, and this time we raised it just slightly to 4.5 mm. For the nasal tip, donated costal cartilage + cartilage from my left ear were used. I personally felt autologous costal cartilage was too burdensome, so I passed on that haha. More than anything, I said improving my side profile was most important to me, and the clinic’s reviews had such pretty lines, and the director said he would definitely pay attention to that part, so I trusted him and decided to proceed! And since it was revision surgery, I was worried it might be absorbed again or become lower, but he said he would fix the donated costal cartilage and ear cartilage in four layers to firmly build up the nasal tip, so I felt confident. Surgery day story My surgery was scheduled for 1 p.m., and I think I entered the operating room around 2:30 after the consultation and design. When I opened my eyes, it was 6:30... But I had a night shift that day, so I had to go straight to work, and I ran out of the hospital before I was fully alert lol. I was so dizzy and groggy, but the consultant bought my medication and even called a taxi for me, which really moved me. They were truly kind and took care of me with so much attention. Even after I got home, I suffered badly from dry mouth because of the anesthesia, but Xerova spray was a godsend. It worked much better than drinking water 10 times. The anesthesia seemed to wear off completely around 1-2 a.m. That day, the cotton packing filled my nose tightly all the way to the nasal tip, so even talking was hard, and from time to time it felt like something was flowing inside my nose, but as long as I kept gauze in place, there was no problem. There was almost no pain. Recovery process & aftercare After surgery, I had a **swelling injection (steroid)**, an antibiotic injection, and **swelling laser treatment (about 10-20 minutes)** for a total of 3 sessions. Maybe because they took such meticulous care of me, recovery was easy, and the swelling went down fairly quickly. • The splint was removed 7 days after surgery, • The stitches were removed 14 days after surgery, and each time, the atmosphere was so kind and comfortable that going to the clinic didn’t feel burdensome at all. Satisfaction after surgery? > I’m really, really satisfied! 200 points out of 100.. I regret not doing it sooner..^^^ haha Especially the side profile...! It’s the elegant yet defined line I wanted so much, so I feel good every time I look in the mirror...! If you’re considering revision surgery, I hope you consult with many clinics rather than blindly choosing a big hospital, and choose the one that suits you best...! hahaha Like me, even if you’ve worried for over 10 years, I think you won’t regret it if you make the right decision!!
