My first-ever plastic surgery review, written because I can’t sleep

It’s not today, it’s yesterday now. Anyway, it’s been 12 hours since surgery! I’m writing this before I forget. Honestly, double eyelid surgery is really common these days, but lying on an operating table <- for someone like me who had never experienced that before, it felt like a really, really major surgery. No matter how easy a surgery is said to be, there’s no one with zero risk of side effects, and the more you search, the more posts like that you see. So near the actual surgery date, my anxiety was at max level, to the point that I was looking at cafes and this community all day.. I had large monolid eyes, so it wasn’t that I was dissatisfied; I just wanted to become ‘even’ prettier, so I wondered if it was right to do it with that mindset. And the more I searched, the more I felt there are really, really, really a lot of brokers. Later, when I saw comments piling up instantly on posts asking for hospital recommendations, it almost made me feel disgusted.. there are just too many. So I was really anxious, and I tried to go for many in-person consultations at places whose website photos looked okay (in the end, what I felt after going myself was the best). I looked at all the premium reputations, and I read almost every post online about the hospital and director I decided on, practically to the level of cyberstalkingㅜㅜ I even searched by initials, and if there was any mention at all, I joined all the cafes, leveled up my membership, and went around asking. I even commented and asked people who had written a very long time ago that they had decided to have surgery at this hospital and then never mentioned it again. I was so grateful to the people who answered.. I also occasionally asked where it was when I saw bad hospital reviewsㅜㅜ But I think it’s hard to find a hospital with absolutely no brokers (if there were really none, I probably wouldn’t even know about it). You just have no choice but to look hard, ha. Anyway, even until the day before, I was really anxious that I might regret doing it for no reason, so I told my mom that if, after seeing the doctor’s consultation before surgery, it seemed wrong, she should pull me outㅋㅋㅋㅋㅜㅜ (My mom is good at this kind of thing,, sorry, director) In any case, on the day of surgery, I met the director while shaking with anxiety, and just like during the consultation, he kindly marked the line in front of my mom. My mom looked at the photos in that consultation room and said, “I think something like this would be good,” and the director said right away, “Ah, for Ms. ~~ your desired line is very clear~” so I felt a bit relieved because it seemed like he remembered what I had said during the previous consultation. I really wanted something natural, where only the tail at the back was visible, almost at that level, because I’m the type whose eyes look intense even if the line is just a little high. (And since I only wanted non-incisional double eyelid surgery, from the consultation stage I filtered out places that recommended ptosis correction or an incision.) Then he asked me various things, like whether I wanted the tail extended. But I don’t like the feeling of the tail turning down, so I just asked him to make it natural. The director said he likes long eyes, so he tends to extend the tail, but when I said I preferred a cute impression, he said he would do it that way. I think it really is important to go in knowing clearly what you want. But when I was lying on the operating table waiting for anesthesia, it felt so scaryㅋㅋㅋㅋ I was shaking so muchㅠㅠ Wow, this really is surgery, that kind of feeling. The nurse putting in the IV said something like, “You’re really not trembling. I envy your composure?” and inside I was like, huh, I’m shaking so much, what is she talking about? Then the director came in and, when he was drawing the design on me with a marker, he had me open and close my eyes seriously about 15 times. So I thought he was very meticulous, and at this point I finally? felt a bit more relieved. Then they said the anesthesia was going in, and I really think I fell asleep right after hearing those words. After this, my memory is extremely blurry, but I think they woke me up at some point. But you can feel that the surgery is being done, you know? So I guess I did something. The only thing I remember hearing is the director saying something like, “Ah, you can’t do ~~.” Then after I came out, I was seriously so woozy. I got an ice pack and did a cold compress, and when they gave me a mirror, I thought, huh, this is pretty okay? After I came home, it looked so intense that I did get a little anxious. But everyone says if it’s this much on the day of surgery, it’s okay, so I’m going to wait for the swelling to go down! It’s a long post, but if anyone read the whole thing, thanks thanks. If there’s anyone who is as anxious and torn as I was, I hope this helps even a little!
