When I was young, I had a lot of cheek fat, so I thought I just had a round face shape, but as my protruding mouth and malocclusion gradually became more severe, my original face shape stood out more. In the early stage after surgery, recovering from general anesthesia was the hardest, and because of the swelling, my face felt tingly and numb. After the urinary catheter was removed, I felt more comfortable, and I was greatly comforted by the older woman who shared the hospital room with me and the nurse. I focused on recovery by taking care of meals and medication properly, and I remember being careful when washing my hair because I was worried water might get into the cheekbone area! The swelling got worse and I swelled a lot, but after stitch removal, I felt much more refreshed, and I also started wearing elastics. At first it hurt and I wasn’t used to it, but gradually I became able to do it well! The swelling would go down when I took walks and then come back again, but as my jawline gradually became more defined and my facial line became prettier, I felt really good. The cheekbone and upper cheek areas took more time, but I was really satisfied with the result. I keep being amazed by Director Kim Jong-yoon’s skill hahaha. After one month, my pronunciation also improved, and I was really surprised when I saw the test results showing that the bone size had decreased dramatically. After that, I also started orthodontic treatment, and I was truly grateful that the director in charge and the teachers all treated me warmly and kindly! Before surgery I was scared, but once I actually did it, recovery was fast and I was able to go about daily life comfortably!!! Now I have no problem smiling or yawning, and seeing my teeth gradually become straighter every day is fascinating and makes me happy! My mouth, which I used to dislike looking at, has become really pretty now. Also, at the 4-month follow-up after another month passed, I can feel the swelling going down more and more! Because of my face shape, any hairstyle looked strange before, but now I’ve even tried a bob, and I really like it! It’s fascinating that with orthodontics my teeth are fitting together just right, and externally, it feels like my lower face is becoming more refined, which is amazing. I thought orthodontic treatment would be hard, but thanks to the teachers and director who are always kind at every monthly treatment, it isn’t hard at all.
