Hello. ! I’m currently at home reducing swelling after lateral canthoplasty reconstruction. I’m writing because I want to talk about lateral canthoplasty. My outer eye corners weren’t originally upturned, but I got greedy for bigger eyes, and since the space between my eyes was narrow for medial epicanthoplasty, I had lateral canthoplasty instead. I had it done at a place that was famous for lateral canthoplasty and extremely confident that they were good at eye surgery. I had the surgery about 2 years ago. At first, my eyes got bigger and looked a little blank, but they looked gentler, and maybe because I was young, I recovered quickly, so I was satisfied. But starting about 2–3 months ago, the outer corners of my eyes changed into a D-line shape, so my pupils looked slightly exposed, the outer corners drooped, and on the right side, the red mucous membrane was visible. Because of that, my eyes were always red from dry eye, so I wore glasses for months. It didn’t get better even when I waited. My eyes were always bloodshot. I seriously almost went crazy because of the dry eye. After 2 years passed, I ended up getting side effects.. It looked really bad, and I felt depressed and stressed. People say the eyes are the windows to the heart, and since my eyes were like this, I got so angry. Then I thought, I really brought this on myself. So I went back to that plastic surgery clinic, and they made excuses, saying it had already been 2 years and they had never seen side effects like this before, and said they would redo it. I don’t irritate my eyes at all. I usually don’t wear eye makeup, only wear lenses occasionally, and I don’t really rub my eyes, but I still got side effects. It’s now day 6 after reconstruction, and the swelling is gradually going down. But I’m angry because my eyelashes fell out. It hurts. And my eyes aren’t as clean as before. Anyway, never get lateral canthoplasty. I really don’t usually write posts like this because it’s bothersome, but I’m so angry. I don’t want other people to suffer damage like I did. The clean, natural eyes I used to have won’t come back. After reconstruction, they did become pointed again, but they’re not like my old eyes. Never do it. I feel like I want to kick myself. I paid money to get surgery, and now that it turned out like this, I resent myself. They say the eyes are the windows to the heart. Don’t ruin your pretty eyes, and absolutely do not get lateral canthoplasty. Side effects will definitely come someday. Right after my lateral canthoplasty, my swelling went down well, the scars disappeared quickly, my eyes got bigger, and my recovery was really fast, but side effects came after 2 years. I truly never imagined I would get side effects. I had my lateral canthoplasty done by someone in Gangnam who was authoritative and confident. They did attach it back upward again. But the area around my eyes is still messy, and I have to wait months for this to heal, and who knows when it might tear again ㅜ But in the end, this is what happened. Absolutely, absolutelyㅜ do not do it.
