Review after shopping around for primary double-eyelid surgery and revision canthoplasty

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I logged in haha Before this, I searched really hard through the app and got a lot of information, so I told myself I’d definitely write a review after going around for consultations, but now I’m only writing almost a month later haha I’ll skip the long intro and get straight to the consultation review! The places I went to somehow ended up being mostly one-doctor clinics, and I made consultation reservations by KakaoTalk inquiry 3 weeks before the consultation date! My surgical history is medial and upper epicanthoplasty, and I have completely monolid eyes. 1. HN Plastic Surgery I booked the consultation right after opening time, so I thought I’d be able to have a more relaxed consultation, but it ended faster than I expected. I also filled out a medical questionnaire(?), and I remember that they even asked me to write down my preferred celebrities. They take photos with a camera, print them out, and consult while looking at my photos. The order was consultant > director > consultant, and the director seemed very confident. It kind of felt like they were rushing me, asking whether I had anything else I was curious about. The price was much more expensive than other places. (Since this was my first consultation, I thought that was just the usual price, but I found out later.) I was debating between non-incisional buried sutures and incisional surgery, but they told me to decide however I wanted, so I passed. I wanted them to recommend something clearly, but it felt like anything was okay. I guess that means they were that confident, but I’m not sure ㅠㅠ Still, thinking back now, for a consultation with no fee, it wasn’t bad. 2. TB Plastic Surgery I went 40 minutes earlier than my reservation time, but I was able to consult right away. I didn’t really get the impression that the consultant was particularly kind. I had a consultation with a female director, and she looked tired, but she answered all my questions well and clearly told me what was possible and what wasn’t. Still, it didn’t really click with me, so I passed. The consultation fee was 10,000 won, and I felt like it was a waste. 3. OOP Plastic Surgery It was cozier than I expected, and as soon as I walked in, there was a really pretty person at the desk. Somehow I got the feeling, “This is the place.” The consultant was the kindest, and she genuinely listened to, empathized with, and recommended things for my concerns overall, not just plastic surgery talk. Kind of like an older cousin? During the consultation, I got emotional and almost cried a little, but I held it in. The director also tried a lot of lines for me and said things like, “You don’t need to do this,” and didn’t pressure me into adding anything. The price was better than I expected, and if I booked the same day, the price became much cheaper. They also took photos and looked at them with me, and the consultation lasted almost an hour. Honestly, I liked this place the most and was going to put down a deposit, but I still had one consultation reservation left, so I kept it on hold, and in the end I passed. The consultation fee was 10,000 won, and it didn’t feel wasteful at all!! 4. OR Plastic Surgery << Final choice hospital! Strangely, even before the consultation, this place kept staying on my mind. Somehow I felt like I had to do it here. The consultant was calm and kind, and what impressed me the most was that before touching my face to look at my eyes, she disinfected her hands with hand sanitizer. I remember that. I felt that each of these small details made the place feel trustworthy. The director looked tired, but he explained everything one by one, and what was most interesting was that all the other hospitals said non-incisional buried sutures would be fine, and for medial epicanthoplasty, they said either there was no need to do it or to do only one side, but here, while explaining things like why my eyes needed incisional surgery, he also recommended medial and upper epicanthoplasty together. But I also wanted to get revision medial epicanthoplasty again, and he told me that the natural-yet-defined semi-out line I wanted would suit me well. And I still remember the director’s one sentence at the end: “If you do it with me, I’ll make it look pretty for you.” The price wasn’t extremely expensive either, and the A/S period was 3 years, so after thinking about it a bit, I ended up putting down a deposit and confirming it! I also got a lot of help through this community, so I’m writing this in case it can be even a little helpful to everyone else who reads it! My surgery is in about 2 weeks ㅠㅠ Recently my self-esteem has dropped a lot, and I’ve been really stressed about my appearance, but I hope all of us become prettier. Of course, I’ll also work hard so that my inner self becomes the strongest and most beautiful!!! If you have any questions, leave a comment!! Let’s all become prettier~~~~
