This is my honest review 5 months after alar reduction. haha I had the surgery last December, and before I knew it, I was entering my 5th month. I think people will be most curious about my condition after some time has passed, so I’ll focus my review mainly on that. 1. Nostril size, which people are probably most curious about Up until 2 months after surgery, I had no trouble breathing, but my nostrils were so small that I couldn’t fit a finger inside, so I cleaned my nose with cotton swabs. I had the surgery secretly without telling my family, but right after surgery my nostrils looked like outlet slots (||), so my family got suspicious whenever they looked at my nostrils. Now they have settled into a kidney-bean shape that looks like I can breathe well, so you don’t need to feel anxious about nostril size. 2. Swelling During months 1–2, I didn’t really feel like there was swelling, but after 3 months, as my nose became slimmer, I thought, “Ah, there was some residual swelling back then.” The clinic manager said, “The nose shape at 3 months is the prettiest,” and now I finally understand why she said that haha 3. Scars To be honest, I’m not that sensitive about scars, so I can’t write in great detail, but I’ll share what I felt haha I’ve been consistently applying the scar cream recommended by the clinic 3–4 times a day even until now. At first, the redness under my nose was noticeable, but now it has faded a lot. I was bothered by that area, so I focused on applying it there in the beginning, and I think it worked. I never had raised, bumpy, or indented scars from the start, just a little redness, so now it’s barely noticeable. 4. Satisfaction My satisfaction is honestly the highest. If, like me, you feel disappointed when looking in the mirror because of your alar area and touch up your nose every time you edit photos, I sincerely recommend it. But it’s better to have it done at a clinic that’s good at it. I don’t think I regret having surgery at Unimedi. I’m so grateful that they made my nose look natural and somehow prettier.
