Honestly, in the past I didn’t think having monolids was that big of a downside~~ But no matter how hard I did my makeup, my eyes didn’t look defined, and every time I took photos I kept thinking, ‘Why do I look so dull…?’ So I started using double-eyelid glue, every single day for a full 3 years… lol It started looking more and more obvious, it was annoying, and I got so exhausted from repeating that process every dayㅠ Since it bothered me this much anyway, I thought, everyone gets double-eyelid surgery, there’s no reason I can’t, and I ended up feeling like I should just properly change it with surgery! But looking into clinics was honestly harder than I expected. There were so many clinics, and it took quite a while to decideㅜㅜ Still, I didn’t give up and kept going to consultations, and I think I finally met a director who matched well with me! The director looked at my eyes and said they had a small, flat structure, so if I did incisional ptosis correction and posterior canthoplasty together, they recommended that my eyes could change into a more open and defined shape. What I liked most was that they didn’t recommend any other surgeries at all, and only focused on the parts I was concerned about. Other clinics often recommended all sorts of thingsㅠㅠ Right after surgery there was some swelling, but it noticeably went down day by day, and when I went to get the stitches removed, the director said I had “almost no swelling” and that the line would settle beautifully. Now, even without double-eyelid glue, I have natural and defined double eyelids, and these days the best part is that no one says I look sleepy anymore haha Every time I look in the mirror, I keep thinking I really did well!!!! The time I spent worrying about my eyes every day for over 3 years now honestly feels like a lie, and of course I feel like I got prettier, but more than that, I’m so satisfied because it feels like my original eyes and my overall impression really suits me.
