Up to months 1-2 after surgery, it was the period when the major swelling was settling down, and there was quite a bit of discomfort. If there were no discomfort after having surgery, that would actually be stranger, so I think I lived while focusing as much as possible on recovery. But from month 3, the swelling started to go down noticeably, and I could feel my facial line gradually becoming more refined. My mouth opening also gradually improved, and the firm scar tissue inside my mouth softened a lot. Around month 5, when I compared it with old videos or photos, I could clearly feel that my face had become slimmer, and people around me also started telling me from time to time that my face had gotten smaller. My acquaintances even told me they could see the swelling going down each week. Now at 8 months, almost all the swelling is gone, and my face shape is much slimmer than before surgery. My impression also looks much softer and more refined, so even people meeting me for the first time often tell me I have a nice face shape or that I seem likable. Now I have no discomfort at all in daily life, and rather, I have gained a lot of confidence. Since my complex about my face shape is gone, I really think I did the right thing by having surgery, and if you have severe stress about your face shape like I did, I recommend considering surgery.
