Here, the focus of the consultation isn’t on how they will operate on my nose, but on how they can get me to switch directors. When I made the consultation reservation, I clearly stated what surgery I wanted and which director I wanted to receive it from, but I had to go through a long back-and-forth because they kept trying to switch me to a different director instead of the director I wanted to consult with. Even after the consultation ended, the only thing I remembered was why I supposedly had to have surgery with a different director. Nothing else really stayed in my memory. Throughout the conversation, they kept trying to lead me into saying certain things so they could switch me to another director, and that intent was so obvious that I felt very uncomfortable. For example, after they kept trying to change the director, they asked me to show what photos I had brought. I said I had brought a few photos and that they were photos from Director ㅇㅈㅈ, and they didn’t even look at them. They moved straight on to the next tactic. If I had simply shown the photos, they probably would have said these were reviews with photos from another director, so I should do it with that other director. They had already prepared numerous traps and rules for switching me to another director, so even though I knew what was happening, it was very hard to get out of it. They have rules that only they have decided on. Men’s nose = another director, straight nose = another director, and so on; by keywords, they have already decided why it must absolutely be done by another director. So every time that happened, I countered those rules by asking back, “Can Director ㅇㅈㅈ not do men’s noses?” “Can Director ㅇㅈㅈ not do straight noses?” For a really long time, I had to keep emphasizing that I had no intention of changing directors and repeat conversations like the ones above. I said, “I already came here after seeing reviews saying this hospital tries to switch directors. I will do it with the director I researched.” Only then did they seem to barely give up. In reality, even though I had sufficiently told this hospital in advance what I wanted to consult about, they did not prepare that director for the consultation and it looked like they just sent in whoever was available. I came from Busan for consultations, so I had only booked two places, and losing one of them like this made all the effort of researching the hospital and director, preparing to come all the way to Seoul, the time, and even the consultation fee feel extremely wasted.
