<This is at 6 months! I thought a passport photo would be the most realistic way to show the result without much editing, so I took a passport photo><Photo taken 1 month after surgery>Before surgery, I used to come in here almost every day haha.. After surgery, I barely came in, but it has been a while, so I’m writing a review! I know many people are considering facial contouring or are scared of it, and I was the same, so I hope this helps. Ever since I was young, when I looked at my face, my cheekbones stood out and my square jaw was also quite severe, so I was really, really stressed..^ I still remember crying in elementary school because people teased me that my face looked like a refrigerator. It hurt me so much, and once I realized, “It’s not fat, it’s the bone that’s the problem!” I decided in high school that I would definitely get facial contouring once I became an adult.. When I was 20, I had even paid deposits to have surgery, but then there was a death during facial contouring surgery at another hospital, and my parents opposed it so strongly that I ended up canceling. The risks are big, and people often say, “facial contouring is a surgery you do while risking your life.” So I gave up and thought I should just live with the face I was born with. But then I started hating looking in the mirror, always covering my jaw when taking photos, and even when taking photo booth pictures, I would always edit my cheekbones and jaw or cover my face. Seeing myself like that made me think I wanted to live prettily.. and I wanted to be pretty while I was even one year younger, so I decided to have surgery again. Since I live outside Seoul, I first did a lot of online research and then grouped my in-person consultations together. The things I considered most important when choosing a hospital were: 1. Safety no matter what. Whether they had CCTV and whether an anesthesiology specialist was on site (If they said I had to pay extra to see the CCTV? I crossed them off immediately.) 2. A natural-glamorous look (I didn’t think a very dramatic look would suit my features, and I also crossed off directors who only said yes to everything. It’s important that they match the direction I want, but I needed a director who would also tell me when something was not right.. ) 3. No factory-style clinics. Priority on a private clinic specializing in facial contouring + nose surgery (To be honest, it’s not that I didn’t consult with factory-style clinics. I visited two famous factory-style places, and the consultant talked as if she had all the real power, saying things like, if I left without paying a deposit now, I couldn’t get this price; she was matching this price for me, so I had to pay the deposit before leaving or I would regret it. I crossed them off.) I looked into places based on these priorities and made a reservation. Because I had 3-type facial contouring and nose surgery together, at the hospital where I had surgery, the consultation went in the order of consultant (20 minutes) - nose director (20 minutes) - facial contouring director (30 minutes). At other hospitals, I only saw the director briefly and consulted longer with the consultant, but this place wasn’t like that. The director didn’t simply look at the surgical area and decide how much to shave or what height to insert. They talked about the harmony of my whole face and explained the direction that suited my face. Since I was anxious and worried, they explained everything carefully, and that was the biggest reason I decided. On the day of surgery, I arrived at 9 a.m., got ready, had the final consultation, lay down on the operating table before 11, and lost consciousness. When the anesthesia wore off and I opened my eyes in the inpatient room, it was around 4:40 p.m.? It was uncomfortable because I had a blood drain in my mouth and a bandage wrapped around me, but the anesthesia had not fully worn off, so I didn’t feel pain. I stayed hospitalized for one day, and I drooled so much.. haha Honestly, after surgery, I opened my eyes, messaged my friends and family that I had woken up fine, and was like, oh lol, this is nothing, it doesn’t even hurt, watching Reels, laughing, and messing around.. Then around 4-5 a.m. the next morning, my jaw area suddenly hurt so much and was so painful that I pressed the bell next to the bed, kept calling the hospital staff member who was on duty, and cried asking them to give me painkillers.. After about 4-5 hours, the pain subsided, and after that I didn’t feel any pain at all! But those hours were so, so painful... Right after surgery, I wasn’t very swollen, but the swelling gradually increased, peaked around days 3 and 4, and then gradually went down! When I had double eyelid surgery before, my swelling also didn’t last long, so maybe I’m suited for plastic surgery.. After that, I was discharged in the morning, got home, and for about 2 weeks I slept sitting up in a recliner. My mouth didn’t open well, so I drank water from a sauce bottle and ate porridge with a teaspoon + I often wore a hat at night and went for 30-minute walks. Looking at other people’s reviews, because the incision is inside the mouth, many kept eating porridge and worried a lot, but I don’t like porridge, and my appetite completely came back from days 3-4. On day 5, I ordered ramen and pork cutlet, cut them into small pieces, and ate them. At one week, I cut up and ate Buldak spicy noodles.. At week 2, I even ate malatang.. But since the amount you eat definitely decreases, you do lose weight. I had surgery in the last week of June, and since I had made the appointment in early April, I lost about 4 kg before surgery. From after surgery until now, I have maintained another 4 kg loss! I think you have to keep managing your weight after facial contouring surgery. +What I feel now at 10 months! Honestly, I still don’t really know any major disadvantages. Of course, people say with facial contouring, you must not gain weight, sagging will definitely happen, you have to manage it for life, it will absolutely sag after just a few years, and it can be severe even if you are young. But it hasn’t even been a year for me yet, and before surgery I was so stressed and my self-esteem had dropped a lot, so everyone around me tells me I really became prettier and that I did well. My own satisfaction is really high. From right after surgery until 2 months, the sensation in my left lip was a bit reduced, and I had a tingling sensation around my cheekbone, so I was worried, but as time gradually passed, it returned to normal, and now I live without discomfort. However, this is only my standard, and everyone is different, so if you are considering facial contouring, no one knows what side effects may occur. I may develop other side effects later too. So I can’t tell everyone reading this, “I absolutely recommend facial contouring!” When I see friends around me who are considering facial contouring, honestly, if it isn’t severe, I tell them absolutely not to do it. If they are worried about a face that really stands out to anyone, like mine did, I always say the same thing: “Because it is surgery that shaves bone, it is dangerous, and it is a surgery that will require money and time later. My satisfaction is really high, but everyone is different, so you really need to think carefully and research thoroughly. If you’ve tried hairstyles, makeup, and procedures to some extent and still worry about it, then think about it at that point.” I think sagging is something that inevitably has to happen with facial contouring. I feel like the nasolabial fold area on my left side has become slightly deeper. My family and people around me don’t notice it, but I’ve kept looking at my own face, so I’m the only one who feels it. If more sagging comes with time, I know well that I will also have to spend more money and manage it. But for people like me who were very stressed and feel, “I really must have this surgery!” I think you really need to research thoroughly, do both online and in-person research well, look carefully into reviews, the director, and the hospital, and if you are going to do it, it is right to do it even one year younger.. My words can’t be the standard, and I’m not encouraging plastic surgery! I just wanted to share that this was my experience! If you have any questions, please leave me a message or comment :)
