After getting nose surgery, I found out about this community, and after only reading posts, I joined today and am posting for the first time. I thought there might be many people who are curious like me. Silicone, osteotomy, artificial costal cartilage, septal support strut, alar reduction (I didn't even know this was being done; I found out after surgery)
1. When the silicone was in, washing my face felt like touching a stone every time, but after removal, although it is still a little firm, the feeling is definitely better. 2. Since everything has been removed, it's good that I don't have to worry about inflammation developing going forward. 3. It hasn't been long since removal, so it still feels awkward, but having hope that I can return to my old face with time is good because I no longer have insomnia or depression.
For the alar reduction, there are many scars, so I'm receiving laser treatment. If you're considering it, I think you really need to be careful. When I think of the doctor's face, all I can do is curse. It wasn't even something I wanted. It seems like this hospital recommends alar reduction surgery a lot. Looking at people who had surgery there, many had it done. I don't know whether they wanted it or had it done without knowing like me ㅠㅠ When I asked the hospital, they said they would only tell me if I came in, so if anyone knows, please answer. Honestly, after surgery I couldn't ask because of depression, but in the center of the nasal tip, there was a thread about the size of an injection needle going in, and 3 days after surgery they removed the thread. It felt very long. Is this cartilage tying, or is it alar reduction? I searched and it seems like alar reduction, so does that mean they did alar reduction in two places? They manipulated so many things that I'm just angry. If anyone knows, please leave a comment.
