<3 months> This post was written not for the purpose of defaming the hospital, but for the public interest purpose of protecting consumers’ right to know when considering the same procedures and informing them of risks that should be understood before surgery. This is a public-interest review based on Article 10 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea (human dignity and the right to pursue happiness), Article 21 (freedom of expression), Article 124 (consumer rights), and Article 4, Paragraph 4 of the Framework Act on Consumers (consumers have the right to receive safe and accurate information). At the end of January 2025, I received thigh liposuction, calf liposuction, and calf injections at a hospital located near Sinsa Station. After the procedures, buttock collapse and side effects occurred, and I now need reconstructive surgery. I am writing this review in the hope that it may help those considering similar surgeries in the future as prior reference material. Currently, I have experienced formation of a double crease below the hip line due to buttock collapse buttocks showing between the groin area when I spread my legs uneven, bumpy thighs skin pigmentation at the calf liposuction sites a left-sided asymmetrical scar made in a visible area that is not hidden by the panty line, etc. Multiple side effects have occurred. For reconstruction, I visited and consulted at several other hospitals. As a result, I was told that the fat under the buttocks is essential fat that supports the buttocks, so that area should not be suctioned. Because this area was over-suctioned, my buttocks collapsed and a double crease formed. When side effects occurred and I first visited the hospital, what the hospital told me was that my buttock center was lower, so I should do hip-lifting exercises. However, after comparing pre- and post-surgery photos at other hospitals, before surgery my buttock center had originally been higher, and it was lower because the buttocks had collapsed. If side effects occur like mine, reconstruction with fat grafting is needed, but the area below the buttocks is a region where you cannot sit or sleep properly for 2 to 3 months and where graft survival is also poor, so there is a high possibility that a second grafting procedure will be needed. The reconstruction cost is therefore substantial. Since the thigh area supports the buttocks, if you are proceeding with liposuction in that area, please make sure to consult several places and choose carefully.
