I had been living with high myopia and astigmatism, and it was so inconvenient that I had ICL surgery in 2014. Because I also had astigmatism, I was going to get toric ICL, but there was a possibility that the axis could shift after lens implantation, so we decided to correct only the myopia and do LASEK later. They inserted the lens without making an iridotomy hole, but after surgery I had no time, and I didn’t really want to do LASEK (I heard it hurts a lot ㅠㅠ), so I kept putting it off and ended up not doing it. Because astigmatism remains, I wear astigmatism-correcting glasses when driving or working, and in daily life I just live without them. I’m very satisfied with being able to wake up and immediately see the clock. The glare definitely became worse than before surgery, so night driving has become difficult, and because I wear astigmatism glasses, I stopped driving with sunglasses on. At a recent ophthalmology exam, I was told there is a little ICL-related cataract... If it gets worse, I think I’ll need cataract surgery ㅠ I don’t know if it’s because of cataract symptoms, but there’s no change in visual acuity, yet at night the glare is worse and my vision is hazy. They say that if you get ICL, the possibility of cataracts increases... (I didn’t know at the time of surgery ㅠ) Still, I’m satisfied because I can live without glasses and contact lenses!!
