You know that meme these days, “Will you date me or not, will you date me or not, ah but it’s kind of too much”? That was my state before facial contouring. Should I get facial contouring or not, should I or not, ah but it’s kind of too much. I seriously debated it for a year and then had the surgery. If it had been double eyelid surgery or a nose job, I wouldn’t have hesitated at all. Because I thought facial contouring was one of the most difficult cosmetic surgeries, painful, and slow to recover from, I went in after worrying about it for a whole year beforehand. Then why did I do it? People are strange.. Even though facial contouring is a surgery that hurts and inevitably makes you think about side effects, the more I thought about it, the more it gradually changed into, “This seems doable?” I watched several successful reviews every day, and on YouTube and Reels, the algorithm kept showing tons of videos about facial contouring surgery, so I gradually started thinking, “Maybe this isn’t such a serious surgery?” In the end, I got swayed by media and had the surgery. But luckily, my satisfaction with the surgery is high. (There’s no way to explain it except that I was lucky.) I know the girls around me get breast surgery, nose surgery, and eye surgery, and guys around me do, at most, eyes or nose? Even if I add up all my KakaoTalk friends and acquaintances, I think I’m the only one who had facial contouring surgery. So everyone tried to stop me, asking if I had a death wish; But I really wanted to do it. Anyway, my facial contour wasn’t extremely weird. I fully understand why everyone tried to stop me. But the face shape I wanted was one that fell cleanly with no angular areas. Honestly, I don’t love my facial features either, but I wanted to fix the contour first and then maybe fix other areas afterward. So after going to more than five hospitals, I had three types of facial contouring done at Saekim. I’m too lazy to write the surgical methods separately. Anyway, even if I explained the small details, I don’t think anyone would understand. I only understood after having the surgery myself. Like they say, nothing is gained without pain, and after surgery it really hurt.. What is this? What is this pain? I was so dumbfounded that tears kept streaming down. Then by day 3, the pain started slowly backing off. When it hurt, I engraved into my heart that I would absolutely never do anything like pin removal later (not the hospital). I mostly ate soft foods that would basically melt in my mouth, and I wore the compression band, but because of the swelling it didn’t go on well, so I got irritated every time I had to do it. Repeating one hour on and 30 minutes off helped the swelling go down well. After going through such a hard time and a process that made me wonder, “Is this living?” the swelling went way down, and the face I wanted appeared. Saying it like this makes it sound like an easy surgery, but absolutely do not undergo the surgery lightly.. It hasn’t even been half a month yet, so my mouth still doesn’t open fully. I think I’ll need to watch it for a year, but I can eat hard foods to some extent. Well, there’s no reason to go around life with my mouth open, so so far there’s nothing uncomfortable. I’m also very satisfied with my face shape, to the point that I want to bring a fruit basket when I go in for my next follow-up.
