Hello^_^ I'm a woman who is now a little over 3 weeks out from square jaw + chin surgery... When I was looking into surgery, I got a lot of help from people in this community, and now that I'm back after surgery, it feels differentㅋㅋ First of all, my jaw itself was big, and my face was so angular that people really said I looked like Park Kyung-lim; My head was already large to begin with -_- and with my jaw like that too, my face looked huge. I hated even tying my hair up, let alone wearing hats... This wasn't something I had been steadily planning; I suddenly made up my mind and did it.. Because I'm very suspicious, I worried so much about side effects, results, and everything that my head almost exploded;; I only had a consultation at one place and decided on surgery right away. Even in consultation reviews, people said you have to find a director who suits you. The first place I went matched well with me, and the director's style felt trustworthy, so I went for it right away.. I was torn between results and safety, and chose safety; I was prepared for the effect to be mild in exchange for safety. I didn't want to die trying to become prettier ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ survival instinct ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Anyway, the consultation date was January 7. Surgery day was January 25! At first I went thinking about square jaw and cheekbones, but the director said cheekbones were not the issue to think about right now.. the urgent issue was the jawㅋㅋ They said because my face shape was a short square, I needed chin surgery to get a V-line effect. They said my muscles were substantial, so it would be better to get Botox before surgery. In my current state, the amount of muscle to remove would be huge, causing a lot of bleeding, which would make both surgery and aftercare difficult;; So I did as they said.. I got tests and Botox on January 7 and scheduled surgery 2 weeks later. On surgery day, I wasn't as nervous as I expected. If anything, the people around me were more nervous and making a fuss...ㅋ I just got an injection, rested, went into the operating room, slept there too, and when I woke up, it was over~ Maybe because I'd had general anesthesia twice before; even though I was dazed and had no strength in my body, I kept trying to get upㅋㅋ The anesthesiology director saw me doing that and said I had good energy and was brave ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ... After being moved to the inpatient room, they removed the gauze from the wounds inside my mouth.. taught me how to gargle, I drank water, ate ice cream.. and even ate pumpkin porridge when they gave it to me; Aside from my mouth feeling stuffy and my throat feeling scratchy? there was no pain at all. After a little while, they removed the bandage and showed me the mirror with only the compression band on.. That feeling was really strangeㅋㅋㅋ The director kept poking my lips and asking if I had sensation, and although it was numb, I had proper sensation. Then I got dressed by myself and was discharged the same day;;;; They said I had surgery last and took the longest, but I was the first to go home... top-class stamina;;; After surgery, I only drank three or four pumpkin juices a day~ Honestly, I was really casual about compresses;;; An acquaintance took the compress pack I got from the hospital, so before drinking pumpkin juice, I rubbed it on my jaw and then drank it... Instead, I walked around a lot. Even when going to the hospital for care, I deliberately walked to a station a bit farther away, then took the subway.. and walked back too; I took walks at night.. They removed my compression band the day after surgery. The director said I had no bruising on my face, so they would remove the band and I should wear a mask and walk around; I walked around a lot. Four days after surgery, I went to a friend's house and hung out;; My imagination that after surgery I'd have to lie at home for a few weeks? was really just imagination -_- I thought I wouldn't be able to open my mouth and eat, so I'd automatically diet... but I ate chicken after 3 days;; I went to my friend's and even ate galbi;; of course, cut into tiny pieces with scissors;;;;ㅋㅋㅋ For the first week after surgery, I went almost every day and got laser? treatment, and after that it decreased a bit. I also got one pack treatment, one swelling injection, and high-frequency care every 3 daysㅎ Now it's been 3 weeks, and these days everyone who sees me says I've become prettier and that it's amazing;; Even my family says it was good I had surgery and that my impression looks softer, so they like it; When I first consulted, I asked about the effect, and they said it would take about two months for people to notice the change... But for me, a little over a week later, I was already getting clear reactions from people around me ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Maybe I'm suited for surgery... The director said they did the surgery well, so now I should lose weight... They want me to promise... sob.. Now I confidently tie my hair up! Who cares if there's swellingㅋㅋ It's not square anymore! Except for my throat hurting until the next day because of anesthesia (it hurt about three times worse than a sore throat from a cold;), it didn't hurt, so maybe that's why whenever acquaintances ask, I answer, “It wasn't a big deal?” But from the day I started looking into surgery until after surgery, all the time I spent worrying and feeling anxious about every little thing.. thinking of all that emotional stress, it's definitely not something to take lightly.. I had a really severe square jaw, so of course I'm very satisfied with the surgical result. The effect wasn't as minimal as I had worried either. Most of all, the best thing is that when I look in the mirror after surgery, I smile. It feels good^^;; Maybe because I smile so often like that, my impression has softened and I feel like my own mind has become that much rounder too. That's what I like mostㅎㅎ I wasn't active in the comments, but I received a lot of help from other people's posts here, so thank you so, so much~! And for those thinking about surgery.. please think carefully. Don't be too greedy^^; This was advice I heard from a friend too, and it turned out to be true. Once I emptied my mind, things became comfortable in many ways...(huh? in what senseㅋㅋ) Then I'll end this wordy, unnecessary review here^^ Thanks for reading this long post~
