First of all, I really thought a lot before undergoing medial canthoplasty restoration, and in the end, I’m satisfied.! The director is a bit conservative(?). During the consultation, he laid the groundwork(?) by saying things like Mongolian folds could form / I wanted the double-eyelid line to go in as an inline crease, but it might not become inline / it might not come out pointed, etc. So I had made up my mind to “just accept it” regarding those parts before getting surgery. But now, about 2 weeks later, there are no Mongolian folds, it’s pointed, and the line has gone in so beautifully as an inline crease,, I think he intentionally speaks really conservatively haha Still, it hasn’t been long yet, so I’ll have to watch how it changes from now on..
Also, since the surgery itself was performed while the anesthesia had worn off, it was nice because I had absolutely no concern about something like a proxy surgery. (Thanks to this, I wasn’t very nervous even up until the surgery.) I trusted the director and really relaxed my whole body and left it to him, because I felt like that would make the swelling less severe haha
Scarring depends on the person, but for me, it’s so clean that I still can’t believe I had surgery 2 weeks ago,, They say redness gets worse as new skin grows in, so I don’t know what will happen thenㅠ When I came out after surgery, there were more stitches than I expected (about five or six even down to the lower eye line), so I worried that scars might remain where the stitches were tied, but it’s really clean … This is kind of surprising.. And because my upper canthoplasty was done too aggressively, it opened a lot in a diagonal direction, so the inner corners of my eyes were not just rounded but almost square… So I asked him to make them pointed, but I didn’t have high expectations, and he really made them pointed to the point of being sharp, so I thought his surgical technique must be amazing.. (But there are also many reviews saying it opens back up over time, so I think I’ll have to keep watchingㅠ)
I had already let go of some perfectionism, so I underwent this surgery while accepting some possibility of scarring or slight asymmetry. Of course, right now there are no scars and it hasn’t opened back up, so my satisfaction is high, but since this is a surgery that really needs to be observed over a long period, I don’t know how it will turn out either haha Still, I had the surgery fully aware that restoration is a very difficult surgery and that there are many variables, so I don’t think it will bother me too much.
The change in impression is also big. I wondered if I was just making my eyes smaller and wasting money over this 1-2 mm, so even after scheduling the surgery, I had a reality-check moment. But that 1-2 mm actually has quite a big effect on the impression of the face haha It feels much more elegant(?).. Please keep that in mind when deciding on surgery.
