About 3 months ago, I had an incisional procedure + posterior and lower canthoplasty. (My upper eyelids were completely loosened when I went for the consultation, so the before photos show them fully loosened. From then on, all photos, including the after photos, are photos with double-eyelid tape on.) Day 1 - I look like someone who got beaten up by Ma Dong-seok. Sunglasses are essential! Until the stitches are removed, you have to fight severe dry eyes and a foreign-body sensation for a week. I spend all day flipping my eyes open and clutching artificial tears. Eye discharge also builds up every day. Even after the stitches are removed, it keeps happening. The feeling of the line under the eye being pulled lasts 1-2 months. I found that I couldn't open my eyes without double-eyelid tape. Day 2 - The red bruising came up a bit more. It is depressing to think I might have to live looking like this. The outer corners of my eyes have been lowered too much. (They go back up later.) Day 3 - It looks like the swelling has gone down a bit compared with yesterday, or is that just my imagination? Day 4 - Maybe the deep bruising is clearing, because the area around my eyes is yellow. Day 5 - Even more yellow. The lowered outer corners have also come back a lot. I have gotten somewhat used to the foreign-body sensation. It is not that it doesn't hurt, though.. Day 6 - A lot of the swelling has gone down. I want to get the stitches removed quickly! Day 7 - As soon as the stitches were removed, the foreign-body sensation and dry eyes almost disappeared. Both sides of the outer corners where the stitches were removed are itchy. Do not scratch.. Week 2 - The period when my satisfaction was highest. One month - Everything found its place again, shrank back, and became natural. It feels like the eyes that had gotten bigger shrank back again. The skin at the outer corners that had folded because of the stitches still has lace-like wrinkles.. They say it will disappear later. Two months - The wrinkle-like scar at the outer corner has faded, but it is still there. Foundation always settles into it when I do makeup. I suppose it will gradually go away. 1. Result Overall, I was satisfied. Because they cut and pulled to both sides, my eyes got a bit bigger, but after about a month they returned to almost exactly their original state, so other people did not even know I had surgery. I am generally satisfied, thinking that there has been a subtle change that only I know about, in a natural way.. 2. Cost The cost differs a lot between incisional and non-incisional methods. After the consultation, I paid 1.32 million won for posterior and lower canthoplasty + incisions on both sides. Still, if you want your eyes to get even a little bigger, I recommend the incisional method. 3. Preoperative explanation: The explanation during the consultation was quite disappointing.. I think you need to search everything in advance before going. There was no explanation at all about what the principle of canthoplasty is. Maybe because it is Gangnam, most consultations are probably for people who already have a high level of knowledge. That the eyelid is pulled and anchored to the periosteum, and what that periosteum even is, I only found out by searching on my own after the consultation haha After surgery, the asymmetry is noticeable. One side's line touched the eyeball, while the other side did not, and there was a big difference of about 2 mm. After all the swelling went down and a month passed, the difference did shrink to about 1 mm.. When it was 2 mm, I was shocked and asked about it, and they said it was because my protruding eyes had been asymmetrical from the start. They said that because the protrusion of my eyes had been asymmetrical from the start, the result also came out asymmetrical. (The asymmetrical lower line that is clearly visible in the photos ㅠㅠ) I accepted it, but I think it would have been good if there had been an explanation beforehand.......... I think it will be less shocking if you know this part in advance before going. 4. Postoperative story And the cut area at the outer corner of my left eye healed somewhat and became blunt, shrinking back again. (You can see it in the photos too.) I think you also need to know about aftercare in advance and take good care of it yourself... Even if I turned back time, I do not know what I should have done about this part. Did I sleep on my side... Oh, and! From now on, I cannot do smiling eyes. Because the lower eyelid is pulled, it does not come up when I smile. If I smile with my eyes like before, it looks bizarre, so I am practicing how to smile with my eyes open. Even now, 2 months after surgery, I live with some dry eyes and eye discharge. Along with the pros and cons of the surgery, your innate conditions also need to be a good fit.
