Repeat Eye Revision Surgery_Eye Shape Correction, Retraction, etc.

<Reference photo for design><Front view on the day of surgery><Eyes closed on the day of surgery_the left line is higher, but it was the day of surgery..><Front view at 3 months><Looking downward at 3 months_when looking down, the left line was still high, and as time passed the swelling went down but the line did not lower, so it looked uneven and caused a lot of stress><Eyes closed at 9 months_after comparing with other people’s reviews, I realized that although I did not swell much on the day of surgery, my swelling went down more slowly than others.><Front view at 9 months><Front view at 9 months, eyes tensed_the left fixation is still deep, so perhaps because of that, the pupil and scleral exposure are uneven (this was how my eyes were before)><Front view before surgery><Eyes closed before surgery>1. History and eye condition 1) Surgical history -2016 (revision surgery): in-line -> out-line, lateral canthoplasty -2022-2023 (over 1 year) -At ㅇㅇㅅ (in Seoul), for 1 year I received injections to release scars/adhesions/sausage-like swelling/overcorrection, and injections to lower the height -Once every 3 months, total of 5 times (left 4 times, right 1 time) => spent about 5 million KRW on injections alone -As someone from outside Seoul, transportation costs were +alpha *Results =>There was an effect in reducing the height and sausage-like swelling, but only slightly =>Side effect 1: As the sausage-like swelling went down, the depth of the fixed double-eyelid line became even deeper =>Side effect 2: Mucosal eversion worsened (the mucosal eversion had only been near the outer corner of the eye, but it lifted up to above the pupil) =>Side effect 3: Eye tightness and stinging became worse. During the 1 year when it was severe, I could not wear contact lenses and had to wear glasses. =>Aftercare: At the 4th session, I received 40% DC on the overcorrection injection, and at the 5th session I received two free injection procedures: eye shape correction + 1 more (I don’t remember the name) 2) Current eye condition -The left mucosal eversion has worsened, and small millet-like bumps often appear on the left mucous membrane. -When I stay still, my eye feels tight and stings badly. It interferes a lot with reading books or working. My concentration span has become shorter. -The asymmetry has worsened. 2. Eyes I wanted -Top priority: improving stinging, tightness, overcorrection, and mucosal eversion in the left eye -Aesthetic: visible mucous membrane (left), scars, sausage-like swelling, correcting asymmetry between both eyes (lower lateral canthoplasty was recommended for the right eye) -Design: change out-line -> an in-out line that looks like an in-line -Reference photos for design: 1 Gong Hyo-jin, 2 Shin Min-a (my eyes are sunken, so of course they would be different, but I thought this design would suit my eye shape best & it was the eye design I wanted) 3. Reason for choosing the clinic (+visits, consultations) -I visited a total of 10 places for surgery consultations: ㅅㅎ, ㅁㅊㅍ, ㅇㅎㅅ, ㅁㅅㄹㅇ, ㅇㄹ, ㅇㅁㄹ (director ㄷㅇㄹ), ㅇㅇㅋ, ㅅㅅ, ㅇㅍㅌㄴ, ㅇㅇㄱㄹ -About one month using annual leave + Saturdays *1st choice_Afternoon -There was enough extra skin, so lowering the line with skin excision was possible -They said it probably would not need to go as far as double-line creation (to be honest, I don’t actually know what double-line creation is) -They said everything I wanted could be improved: eye tightness, mucous membrane, scars -If I had desired photos, I could bring them and design it together with the doctor (consultation with the consultant) -AS: 1 year Total: 4.62 million KRW (discounted price for writing 2 reviews) (R lower lateral canthoplasty: 1.54 million KRW) =>They clearly guaranteed improvement for the eye tightness, stinging, and overcorrection, which were the hardest parts for me. This place also had good reviews, and there were many reviews of functional surgeries like retraction surgery or asymmetry caused by overcorrection like mine, and the before-and-after photos were satisfying enough that I trusted them. The doctor said I should do the eye surgery first and then consider the canthoplasty later, but since I was already going under the knife, I wanted to do everything at once, so I decided to do the eyes + canthoplasty together, and I heard the exact price through an additional phone consultation. (I’m from outside Seoul) The doctor also runs a separate Naver cafe and personally replies to comments for aftercare and consultations, and it seemed like he approached it sincerely with a sense of mission, which also played a part in my choice. <Surgery details> *Incision -Eye shape correction revision surgery, left retraction release 380 -Releasing the deeper and thicker fixed double eyelid/eye shape correction on the left eye (retraction surgery) -Design: out-line -> in-out line (lowering the line), lower lateral canthoplasty to correct asymmetry *Conclusion =>1. Functional aspect The doctor said the line would come down more, but it has not come down further, and because only the swelling went down while the line remained high, mucosal eversion appeared again. The mucosal eversion still exposes up to above the pupil, but it has improved compared with before. (I think the mucosal eversion is because the line was set high and the overcorrection is still present, and I think it will get better only if the line is lowered more and the overcorrection is released a bit more....…) I plan to ask the doctor when I go for my 3rd follow-up. The stinging and tightness are still there. I think the left overcorrection needs more retraction release. When I look downward or tense my eyes, the left line is still high and the fixation is deep. 2. Aesthetic aspect I changed from an out-line to an in-line, but contrary to the line set on the day of surgery, as time passed and the swelling went down, it slipped back out again, and the wrinkly line on the right returned the same way. The eyes I wanted were long horizontally on both sides, but they look bigger vertically like triangular eyes. When the morning swelling goes down and it becomes afternoon, the triangular-eye look gets worse (the eye tightness also feels exactly the same as before surgery).. As shown in the photos, the line scars and sausage-like swelling when my eyes are closed have become lighter.★ The lower lateral canthoplasty scar remains only slightly at the end of the right eye, and honestly, when I compare the symmetry of both eyes with the before-surgery photos, I’m not sure.. Maybe because the swelling has not fully gone down, when photos are taken, my impression looks stronger than before.. Since both the functional and aesthetic parts did not turn out as desired more than I expected, honestly, as time goes on I do not look in the mirror much anymore, and I am very stressed.. I know I cannot be 100% satisfied, but these are eyes I have had worked on many times, and with the side effects from the injection procedures added on, I feel like they may be going back to my previous eyes.. I plan to talk with the doctor and either watch the progress more or have revision surgery. Since I do not want to have any more surgery, if I am satisfied, I will not come back, and if I end up doing it again, I will come back to leave a review.
