7-month review of two-jaw surgery at Iyoo Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

It has already been 7 months since I had two-jaw surgery. I really didn’t know time would pass this quickly. To be honest, the first few days right after two-jaw surgery were difficult, and there were moments when I wondered, why did I do this? But now I’m doing so well in daily life that I don’t even remember thinking that. Almost all the swelling has gone down, and my jaw movement has become natural, so I have no discomfort at all when laughing broadly or opening my mouth like before. In the past, a lot of gum showed when I smiled, so I was self-conscious, and because my mouth protruded, I wasn’t confident about my side profile either. Now my mouth shape looks pretty when I smile, and my jawline has become neat, so I feel good every time I look in the mirror. Especially these days, it’s a bit disappointing that I cover my mouth when I laugh because of my braces, but I’m very satisfied with the results of the two-jaw surgery itself. I used to have a habit of breathing through my mouth, but now I naturally breathe through my nose, and I often hear that my expression has become softer. Friends I met after a long time told me I look really natural and prettier, and that I look much more comfortable than before, which also warmed my heart. Now my quality of life has improved so much that I really live forgetting the fact that I had surgery. There are far more things I’m grateful for than discomfort, and I think it was a really good choice. I sincerely thank Director Kim Jong-yoon at Iyoo Oral and the nurses who carefully cared for me throughout the recovery period. I hope this post will be of at least a little help to those considering two-jaw surgery
