I went to four places, but two of them really didn’t feel right, so I ruled them out. Talking about the remaining two: 1. Functional nose hospital I have vasomotor rhinitis, my inferior turbinates are large, and my nasal septum is a bit deviated, so my airway is narrow. They said that since I don’t usually feel nasal congestion, one side getting blocked when I lie down is naturally due to gravity, and they couldn’t guarantee improvement in snoring because it may be due to other structural issues. They also couldn’t guarantee improvement in runny nose because it could be coming from other areas such as the paranasal sinuses. They said even if it improves somewhat, I would need postoperative management. But this hospital only does septal extension, and since my septum is small, they suggested using donated costal cartilage for the functional part. The cost was 4.9 million won for just the nasal tip, or was it 5.5 million won including the nasal bridge (donated fascia) Functional nose surgery 2.4 million won 2. Plastic surgery clinic They said they could also correct the deviated septum. Here, they said they would harvest and use septal cartilage as a columellar strut. They said my septum is small but let’s try using it. They said if I go elsewhere, they’ll say it’s too small and suggest donated costal cartilage or autologous costal cartilage. The cost was 3.2 million won for just the nasal tip, and 4.7 million won including the nasal bridge (custom implant) The design was about similar at both hospitals, and my nasal height isn’t bad, so they told me to choose whether to do the nasal bridge too based on preference. Even just doing the nasal tip would be okay. But my biggest concerns were that my nasal tip is blunt and my columella droops, and many people said my height is fine, so I wondered if I really need to do it. It wouldn’t be a dramatic change, but the first place is too expensive for a first nose surgery, and the second place doesn’t do functional surgery, so I’m worried that since my airway is narrow and I have rhinitis, it might get worse after surgery. 1. Should I not have surgery and just live like this? 2. I’m curious whether anyone had rhinitis and it didn’t get worse after surgery. If so, I’m also considering the plastic surgery clinic. 3. Please tell me whether it would be better to do it structurally safely, since if I have rhinitis I can get reimbursement through actual-expense insurance, even if it costs 5 to 6 million won
목포항 Your nose is so pretty though.????? It doesn’t look like a nose that needs surgery,,,, maybe just think about rhinitis surgery... Cosmetic surgery can’t be undone,..
기뎡 [@Mokpo Port] Even at the functional nose hospital, they said that since both sides are open in everyday life, if I’m going to do cosmetic surgery, they do recommend doing it together, but the functional part is kind of borderline
목포항 [@Gidyeong] But the nasal tip line and the area connecting to the columella are so pretty??? If the functional issue is borderline too, I recommend not having surgery... Even if you have rhinitis surgery, people who are going to have it come back will all have it come back anyway
기뎡 [@Mokpo Port] Really?? Thank you I thought it was blunt and the columella was drooping, and the clinic did say to lift it a bit, but I was worried that if I only do cosmetic surgery without the functional part, the function might get ruined. Also, the quote from the functional nose hospital seems excessive..
kayazamm Absolutely don’t have surgery! If you mess with the nose the wrong way, the side effects are no joke
짇이와돈도니 But what do they mean, let’s try using it when the septum is small ..? What are they going to do if it collapses ..?
기뎡 [@kayazamm] Ah, this is hard.. Before going to consultations, I thought it would be nice to slightly do the nasal tip and improve function too, but after seeing the cost, I’m wondering whether the degree of improvement would be worth the price. I’m leaning toward thinking that deciding right now would be too hasty
기뎡 [@Jidi and Dondoni] The size came out as 26x20, and usually it has to be at least 25 for septal extension to be possible. The place that said let’s use it said they would only use a small amount as a columellar strut They said they’ll leave 13 mm of frame. Usually they leave 8-10 mm, so they are leaving quite a lot
짇이와돈도니 [@Gidyeong] I see….. I was startled.. But I think your nose doesn’t need anything, and if you do anything, just rhinitis surgery… They do say rhinitis surgery can relapse too
기뎡 [@Jidi and Dondoni] That’s what I’m debating too, because in everyday life both sides of my nose are actually open.. Runny nose is something surgery can’t solve, and it’s only to the extent that one side of my nose is blocked when I wake up, so my rhinitis is about a triangle level
짇이와돈도니 [@기뎡] Huh, what? Then don't do it….. There are many cases where even people without rhinitis can't breathe through their nose after nose surgery My friend had nose surgery, and whenever she drinks alcohol, one side of her nose gets blocked and she says she feels like she's dying.

It was my first rhinoplasty, and I lived well without any problems for 10 years. There was no swelling, and I think the surgery was done quickly under sleep anesthesia. Since it was surgery from 10 years ago, my nasal tip has sunken now,
