It’s been 3 weeks after having silicone and ear cartilage removed after just 17 days (leaving the cartilage tying in place) From week 2, my nostrils started showing and my nose lifted, and now it has lifted a bit more. Each day feels so long.. I can’t believe it’s only week 3...
The hospital where I had surgery didn’t counsel me properly at all, so I went to two places near my house
At the second hospital I went to, they told me a lot about the things I was curious about They said having had inflammation does not 100% mean contracture will happen, it just means the possibility is higher and that if inflammation occurs but you don’t remove it and just leave it, and contracture comes but you still don’t remove it, don’t treat it at all, and leave it alone, the contracture continues to progress, and for those people, because the contracture has progressed a lot, there are also people who don’t return well
I had blood accumulation twice. After surgery, quite a lot accumulated. Because of the splint, I had it sitting there for several days. After removal, it accumulated once more, but that time it was a small amount They said if there is blood accumulation, the probability of contracture does increase But they said when you have surgery and then removal, some degree of contracture does happen to everyone
But the foreign material was removed quickly and although there may have been microscopic inflammation, it wasn’t in a severe state and they said my nose is lifted now because the skin is angry, it’s at its hardest point, and it’s the period of contraction
They told me there is a good chance it will improve enough because my original nose was not an upturned nose at all Wouldn’t it come down more, like before? That’s what they told me
And I was so worried about the cartilage tying, so I asked and they said honestly, whether the cartilage tying is tied high or tied small, there isn’t much difference
My eyes were also pulled tightly forward, so my epicanthoplasty became severe, and even after all the swelling went down, it didn’t return This too.. maybe as the flesh contracted, my eyes got pulled along with it. Why am I like this, really...
They said the skin is angry, and now is when it is lifted the most, so it will come down compared with now, and since there is no implant, there is a good chance it will improve
I’ve saved screenshots of comments in this community from people who had lifting like me and got better.. There seem to be many people whose contraction is mild but my eyes are pulled and my nose is lifted a lot so the whole vibe of my old face is gone The directors who are seeing this face for the first time now say the contracture isn’t severe, and the first director I went to comforted me, saying it’s okay even now, so I should take off my mask and go around But these days, every morning has been hell for me I don’t know how many times my mood goes back and forth in a day I dream without thinking about my face, then when I open my eyes in the morning and face reality, my chest feels so tight and I can’t breathe. I know I have to wait, but right now is so hard, and I miss my old face so much that I keep hitting my chest with my fist. It’s so hard, from the moment I open my eyes in the morning.. Every morning, I lie down holding my mom’s hand and cry until I’m exhausted, then barely fall asleep a little again Today, even though I heard positive words at the hospital and keep thinking it will get better, it will come back, there’s nothing I can do about being depressed because I hate my current face so much I have to not see it to forget and live Is there anyone like me who is having a hard time because the contraction is severe.. This is really a trial in life. I’m realizing like crazy how precious my family is, and I feel that I have to live carefully from now on. And live humbly too.. I was greedy I’m scared of tomorrow morning
Still, if I wait, it will get better, right Please, I hope my old feeling comes back..
Ah.. one more thing I live apart from my father, and he’s someone who doesn’t call often, but he called yesterday I sent a long KakaoTalk message. I said I was really sorry for not listening to him.. that I’ll try harder and do better from now on, and because I trust what Dad says, please tell me often that it will be okay.. My father is a dermatologist, and he tried to stop me from getting nose surgery. But I didn’t listen, as if I was possessed, and went ahead with it.. Even so, he didn’t say anything harsh, and after I had it removed, he didn’t say anything either. Rather, because I was having such a hard time, he only comforted me.. On the phone, he said that because I removed it quickly, severe contracture probably won’t come, and people who have breast augmentation surgery also get a lot of contracture, but after removal and with time, they improve a lot He also said not to worry too much about my eyes being pulled, because skin all stretches, and the human body has an instinct to find its place again.. He said it’s like even when you press cook, rice becomes ready after 30 minutes, but I’m opening the rice cooker every minute to check.. He asked if I was feeling very gloomy.. My whole family is worried about me I really didn’t know family was this precious to this extent I got nose surgery, and what I gained is how precious family is..
Shallow relationships don’t care about this kind of pain of mine, and they don’t listen to me ramble on with such a long story.. I’m also thinking a lot that I should focus on and treat the important people well..
(Ah, and this is something I heard at the first hospital For capsular contracture too, I think people who had early removal don’t need to worry too much. They said it’s not the time when a capsule would have formed yet..)
Thank you for reading this long story I feel like I’m really venting a lot here..
