It’s been 2 weeks since I had my first rhinoplasty at Lowell Plastic Surgery! I was always so insecure about my side profile because of my hump nose that I never took side-profile selfies, and even having someone look at me from the side stressed me out. After thinking about it for a long time, I happened to have some free time this time, so I decided to get surgery. First, while looking around at several places online, I found that Lowell Plastic Surgery is well known for doing a natural-yet-glamorous nose well. I looked up review photos and thought it matched my needs, so I chose it. For rhinoplasty, I definitely wanted to have surgery at a private clinic with one director rather than a factory-style clinic, and it fit that condition too, so I decided on Lowell Plastic Surgery! I brought photos of the nose I wanted and consulted with the director. Director Kim Jae-yoon said I already had some nasal bridge height, so we would refine the hump and insert thin silicone, and for the nasal tip use donated costal cartilage + ear cartilage, so that’s how we proceeded. Since it was my first nose surgery, I was really worried, but he said they support and fix it in four layers. I trusted him and had the surgery. Also, unlike other clinics, there was no extra charge for osteotomy of the hump. Before the consultation, honestly, I thought there would be an extra fee, so I was really surprised there wasn’t... On the day of surgery too, the director, consultant, and front desk staff were all so kind that I went into surgery feeling less nervous, and after the anesthesia wore off, I barely had any pain! Other than it being hard to breathe because of the cotton inside my nose, the pain was almost zero~ I went alone without a guardian on the day of surgery, but I do think it would be better to have a guardian come with you ㅜㅜ Mine was an afternoon surgery, so I woke up from anesthesia as quickly as possible and took public transportation home. Since the cotton was removed right away the next day, I don’t think there was anything too difficult before the splint came off! After removing the splint, they also did skin care for me ㅜㅜ Director Kim Jae-yoon removed the splint himself and explained things, so I trusted them even more and liked it! I went in to check my 2-week progress and to remove the remaining half of the ear stitches, and even though it’s only week 2, I’m so happy because I really like the line.
