About 10 years ago, I had monolids and just thought it would be nice to have double eyelids, so in Busan, without properly looking into it, I went to just any plastic surgery clinic. Because I wanted bigger eyes, I had double eyelid surgery, epicanthoplasty, and lateral canthoplasty all done at the same time. The result was a complete failure. My double eyelids were uneven, and the shape was kind of like triangular eyes? It was not pretty, and one side had almost come undone, like an extra crease... I kept getting two double eyelid folds in an ugly way. I also felt like my eye-opening strength had weakened a bit, and the canthoplasty was done too excessively in both the front and back. In the front, the epicanthal fold became severe like a hook, and too much of the lacrimal caruncle was visible, so my dry eye became extremely bad. And for the lateral canthoplasty, my left eye (in the photos) had been opened too excessively, so all the red tissue was visible. I was young and did not know much, so I could not even properly complain to the clinic, and I lived like that for over 10 years.. During that time, I cried a lot because I was upset, and I tried to cover it somehow with makeup while thinking I should get revision surgery. I looked into it a lot, but because I was busy with this and that, I kept putting it off. Since I lived outside Seoul, it was hard to go back and forth to Seoul, so I only worried about it. This time, I finally made a big decision, went to consultations, searched online, and visited clinics in person... Because of the emotional scars from the surgery I had rushed into before, this time I really did not want to get it done just anywhere,, Of course it costs a lot of money too, but I truly wanted this revision surgery to be the last one for my eyes ㅠㅠ I narrowed down the consultations seriously and went to exactly 4 clinics. I even stayed overnight alone in Seoul for 2 days and 1 night and went around passionately..!! I wanted to redo my double eyelids and also wanted epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasty reconstruction, but I wanted to do all of that at once. I really did not have enough time to do them separately.. After finishing consultations at all four places, two places said they could not do double eyelids and canthoplasty revision together, and two places said they could do both double eyelid surgery and canthoplasty at once, so I thought between the two places that could do it and decided. The reason I decided was, first, from looking at many review photos beforehand, there seemed to be many people with good results.. During the consultation, the consultant also seemed very confident, our communication went well, they said they could do their best to create the eye shape I wanted, and they said the doctor was a master of rounded yet pointed eyes. Also, hearing TMI(?) like the director does not drink or smoke at all, and after work he goes to exercise and then goes straight home, made me trust them more, so I booked a date right away and had the surgery. But from the night of the surgery day, a lot of blood came from my left double eyelid line, so it was scary. But the next day I went straight to the clinic and they disinfected it, so it got better. The double eyelid stitches and canthoplasty stitches had to be removed separately a few days apart, so having to go back and forth to Seoul twice just to remove stitches was really annoying. But as time passed, the swelling went down and the eyes that had been my complex became prettier, so I could understand all the inconvenience, and I was so happy every dayㅋㅋㅋ My eyebrows and eyes are very close together, so my eyes were not suited for making the double eyelid line too large. But I showed the doctor photos of the eyes I wanted and asked him to make the line as large as possible. I think I kept asking him, saying I was so tired of covering uneven eyes with makeup and that I wanted pretty eyes even with a bare face haha. Until the one-month mark, the swelling was not going down quickly, so I worried every day that I might end up with sausage eyes, but it gradually went down and became more and more natural! As I am writing this now, it is day 42, and there is still a tiny bit of residual swelling left, but I think it is almost all gone, and I am very, very satisfied. Now I think I can go around without wearing heavy eye makeup. But I really recommend being careful about surgery.. Especially if you are going to get epicanthoplasty or lateral canthoplasty, really look into it well before doing it. Do not suffer emotionally and regret it like I did ㅠㅠ Revision surgery is harder, so I hope you think it over very carefully before deciding..!!
