I Think Fraxel Is Essential for Pores

I looked into almost every laser and tried so many different lasers, but for pores, I think it’s Fraxel. Of course, Fraxel is uncomfortable, so since scabs form over the whole face, it is probably the most uncomfortable. I think there are many people who get it only a few times and say it has no effect. In my case too, it was really uncomfortable, and I couldn’t really tell if anything had changed noticeably. Still, after doing 10 sessions (I did 3 more only on the nose, so 13 sessions on the nose), I can feel a difference. Overall, the pores are gone, and especially on the nose, the blackheads are gone. Of course, when I had only done a few sessions, it was so tedious that I wondered whether they would ever disappear.

Fraxel is actually a brand name, and because it is famous, it is like a proper noun that has expanded into use as a common noun. Usually, if it is shot fractionally, meaning in divided fractions, people call it Fraxel and perform the treatment. I also, of course, did not receive Fraxel itself, but had an Er:YAG laser delivered fractionally.

Before Fraxel, laser peeling irradiated the entire surface, so regeneration was slow and side effects were significant; that was complete resurfacing. Fraxel is different from this because it is fractional, meaning the entire surface is not treated. (Imagine sprinkling sand over the entire face. There would be places where the sand touches the skin and places where it does not. Fraxel is resurfacing in fractions rather than the entire surface.) Irradiating fractionally is the definition of Fraxel.

So it is not the entire surface, but a few percent of the skin surface per session that is treated. As the definition says, it is shot fractionally, so if you have only done it a few times, please don’t think, “Why didn’t it change much even though I went through so much discomfort?” That is normal, so endure it and try at least 10 sessions. I’m posting this because I feel sorry for people asking whether Fraxel works or not.
