Hello I had removal surgery today. I had a deviated nose and my nasal bridge protruded slightly. For the surgery, they slightly shaved the nasal bridge and covered it with AlloDerm, and placed costal cartilage in the nasal tip. It was my first surgery, and I had it removed after 45 days. The shape looked artificial, there was a foreign-body sensation, and my skin was thin, so whenever I was outside even briefly my nose felt cold, so I had it removed. In many ways, honestly, I really wanted removal. From the doctor’s perspective, they probably think I’m a very sensitive person who can’t tolerate this situation. Because there were no problems with the shape or function. I made up my mind firmly and had it removed. I think removing it expecting to return to your old nose can be risky. Of course, the director said, “All I did was put costal cartilage in the columellar strut. It should return to your old nose, but one or two people say it’s different from their old nose, and I feel burdened because you might be one of those one or two.” I understand that position too. But if you are someone whose personality means you will be tied down by your nose for the rest of your life, then have it removed. If you are the type who can let things flow gently like water, and this is a sudden change of heart, please be careful ㅜㅜ This is getting long. So since the AlloDerm that covered the shaved area wouldn’t show anyway, I left it as is and removed only the costal cartilage through an open approach. The reason it was open is that they said the costal cartilage had been placed in the columellar strut. I also signed a written consent and had the removal surgery. During my first surgery, it didn’t hurt at all, to the point I wondered if I had even had surgery, but today’s removal surgery made my nose bleed and my runny nose was flowing, and it hurt so much, really... If you have a lot of nasal discharge, wound healing takes longer too, so I need to manage the runny nose well. I do feel relieved. On the other hand, being worried is something I can’t help as a female college student. I’m also worried because it’s my second surgery.. I’m worried that a third version of my nasal tip might appear, but I had it removed knowing that risk, so it’s okay. Whether it’s nose surgery or removal, please make sure to have a thorough consultation with a specialist. Absolutely! It’s basic.
