I'll share my experience for those considering cheekbone surgery. I've had a face shape with somewhat prominent cheekbones and a square jaw since I was young So I got nicknames and was teased a lot. Those experiences remained as emotional wounds. When taking photos, I would cover my face, and even making eye contact with people felt awkward. I always had the thought, 'It feels like people only look at my face shape.' Even after becoming an adult, that discomfort continued. I thought about plastic surgery for a long time, but bone surgery felt burdensome and scary, so I couldn't decide easily. Instead, I tried botox and tried covering it with makeup or hairstyles, but there were limits. My satisfaction was low and the stress continued. Then I decided to change before it got any later. While looking up many hospital reviews online, I came across Yungwakui Jeongseok, and I liked that it specialized in bone contouring surgery and the reviews saying the results were natural, so I made a consultation appointment. When I went to the hospital, I could receive consultation right away without waiting, and I liked that Director Oh Jeong-seok didn't push anything and listened well to my story. I was also concerned about my square jaw, but these days many people say that kind of face shape is also attractive, so I decided to have only cheekbone surgery. It was impressive that the director respected that decision, and the consultant also asked carefully about the image I wanted, and the consultation atmosphere was comfortable, so my tension eased. On the day of surgery, general anesthesia scared me the most. I even thought, what if I don't wake up, but the anesthesiologist took good care of me, so I felt relieved, and when I closed and opened my eyes, the surgery was over. It was fascinating. For the first few hours, I felt dazed and stiff, and there was swelling too, but it was similar to when I had my wisdom teeth removed. Day 3 was the peak of swelling, and I did think, 'Did I do this for nothing?' but as I followed the hospital's instructions by wearing the compression band, doing warm/cold compresses, and walking to reduce swelling, after about a week it went down a lot. After the stitches were removed, the swelling went down even faster, and after about a month, people around me said my face had gotten smaller and that my overall vibe had changed. But it was natural enough that no one knew I had plastic surgery!! In the past, when I looked in the mirror, I hated that the first thing I noticed was my protruding cheekbones, but now my eyes, nose, and mouth look more distinct, and I think, 'So my face had this kind of charm.' hahaha I think the biggest change is that looking in the mirror no longer feels burdensome Since I spent so long being scared and hesitating, now I feel truly grateful. I really want to tell people who worried a lot like me. Please at least go to a hospital and get a consultation. It might be less scary than you think, and it might actually make you feel more at ease. I now feel that my choice was really the right one. Also, even after surgery, the hospital kept checking on me by text, and the nurses kindly helped me, so I felt at ease during recovery. I was so grateful for all of that. I hope my story can ease someone's worries even a little. Becoming prettier is nice too, but I think the biggest change is that I came to love myself more
