I had it done at the end of June, so it’s been a little over 4 months The first row is how I normally looked before surgery I always went around opening my eyes wide with force The second row is my usual look without using force. Looks dull and unfocused The 3 photos below are recent photos after surgery
They look similar, right? Maybe because I did it as monolids, only about three people so far have noticed right away that my eyes look a little different Actually, even before surgery, the doctor said because I usually kept putting so much force into my eyes, there wouldn’t be a big difference except that I’d be able to open them like that without using force
So at first I wondered whether I should get revision surgery with inner double eyelids or try canthoplasty, but these days I’m actually satisfied with how natural it looks now I also went to other hospitals for canthoplasty consultations, and neither the consultant nor the doctor could tell at all that I had my eyes done When I told them, they said it looked very natural now And they scolded me, saying there wasn’t even any place to do canthoplasty, so I shouldn’t think about touching my eyes
I hadn’t realized it before, but being able to take photos with peace of mind is really nice Anyone stressed about asymmetric eyes will relate, from the outside it doesn’t look that obvious, but whenever I took photos I came out looking like a completely different person, so I almost never took photos all this time Of course, because of my bone structure, the eye height still can’t be helped, but that’s a tiny difference, and since the lines were matched with incisions, now even when I take photos casually, it’s barely noticeable If you look at the first-row photos, my eye shape looks angular, but that’s actually when the asymmetry didn’t come out badly Originally, only one side had an inner double eyelid, so the heights were different and it was worse
Also, before surgery, when washing my face, my eyelashes often went into my eyes, but these days that almost never happens
As for side effects, as I said in my previous review, my eyes sting occasionally, but I think this is dry eye syndrome When I study hard or look at my phone or computer for a long time, my eyes sting and tears stream out It’s not severe, so I haven’t been to an ophthalmologist yet Someone asked in the comments whether my eyes don’t close, and right after surgery, for about 1-2 weeks, my eyes didn’t fully close and because of tear film expansion, things looked blurry, but since then there has been no problem at all
And a lot of people asked where I had it done, I had it done at a place famous for male monolid ptosis correction... haha; If you search, there aren’t many places, and I hadn’t said anything until now because I meant that you should also consult elsewhere, not just the place I went to ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ㅎ
For men who don’t like double eyelids, I think doing it as monolids like me is also a good option
