My asymmetrical chin tip had bothered me for a long time. When I took selfies or looked in the mirror, my jawline looked shifted to one side, which stressed me out, and I naturally started avoiding taking photos. As my concerns deepened, I eventually decided to have double-jaw surgery. After looking into several hospitals, I thought bone-related surgery should be done safely at a specialized place, so I chose Iyuu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The consultation was kind and thorough, which made me trust them, and the reviews were good, so I felt I could leave it to them. On the day of double-jaw surgery, waking up from anesthesia was the hardest part, and breathing was uncomfortable, so I barely slept. But as time passed, it gradually got better, and especially on day 2, after the nasal tube and urinary catheter were removed, I felt much more comfortable. On days 4 to 6, the swelling was at its peak and the nasal congestion was also severe, but as I received laser treatment at the hospital and managed it, the swelling and pain gradually decreased. From day 7, I was allowed to briefly remove the wafer during meals, so it became much easier, and in week 2, after the stitches were removed, my body felt much lighter. Around week 3, I could open my mouth well and had almost no discomfort, so I was able to return to daily life. My sensation has not fully returned yet, but my jawline has become much more natural, so I’m satisfied. At 1 month, there is still a difference in swelling between morning and evening, but I can cover it with a mask, and aside from hard foods, there is no major discomfort. I can feel myself recovering as time goes on, and more than anything, when I look in the mirror, the changed facial line is noticeable, so I’m really satisfied. Since I worried about it for so long, now I truly think I’m glad I had double-jaw surgery.
