I used to personally feel stressed about my small eyes, epicanthal folds, and ptosis.
After I stopped wearing glasses and started wearing hard contact lenses, I could see better, so my eyes did look even a little bigger..
But still, the fundamental problem.. could not be solved..ㅜ
I think I had consultations at about 5–6 places before surgery.
I went to a hospital with a famous doctor known for revision surgery, went to large hospitals, and also went to small private clinics.
The surgery and consultation details each director recommended were a little different, but overall, they recommended ptosis correction and epicanthoplasty.
But well.. as a cosmetic surgery beginner, rather than weighing all sorts of complicated things, I would naturally focus most on the cost..!
Actually, at that time I had set my surgery budget at around 2 million won,
so while going around for consultations, rather than looking at the doctors’ skills, surgical experience, and hospital reviews, I was drawn to hospitals that would do it within my budget.
In the end, at a private clinic near the Nonghyup side of Apgujeong Station, they very strongly recommended non-incisional ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty, so I decided to have surgery in early August for 1.8 or 1.9 million won.. (You can probably tell the clinic name from just this much.. hahaha)
I normally thought that prominent double eyelids on a man felt burdensome and creepy, so I asked them to operate so I would have no double eyelids.
And on the day of surgery.. I didn’t feel nervous the day before or on the day itself, and went to the clinic without thinking much. (Everyone says they get nervous and scared, but why..?)
I just calmly got onto the operating table, closed my eyes, and was lying there thinking about what to eat for lunch, when...
“The needle is going in.”
Suddenly, the anesthetic needle went into my eyelid, and it hurt so damn much that I got scared.
It was the most painful injection I’ve ever had in my life, and I really never want to get it again..
After anesthesia there was no pain, but I can still vividly feel the cutting sensation from the epicanthoplasty even now.. It gave me chills.
After the surgery ended, in the grogginess of anesthesia, the chilling feeling of my inner eye corner being cut was so intense that I couldn’t even thank the doctor and just walked out.
From the first day until days 4–5, probably because of swelling, the double eyelid looked large, but a little after week 1, I was able to go out,
and most of the major swelling went down in about 2–3 weeks.
After the major swelling went down, at weeks 3–4, when looking straight ahead it looked completely like monolids,
and when I slightly lowered my eyelids (the feeling of slightly sleepy eyes), an inner double eyelid of about 1 mm formed deeply.
The epicanthoplasty also turned out fairly well without looking obvious, and overall it feels natural, so I’m satisfied with the result!
After the semester started, I heard a lot that my impression had changed. On the other hand, some older people didn’t know what had changed..
It’s now been almost 2 months since surgery.
I like so much how an inner double eyelid of about 1 mm forms deeply when I slightly lower my eyelids..
I sometimes get greedy, thinking it would look even prettier if I had this kind of inner double eyelid even when my eyes are fully open..
I also want to extend the horizontal length of my eyes with lateral + lower canthoplasty and correct a little asymmetry in the under-eye line..
The clinic says they can slightly raise the line height for free, and if I pay extra for canthoplasty, they’ll do it as I want,
but lately I’ve been thinking a lot more about wanting to keep touching other areas too, and I’m scared I might become addicted to cosmetic surgery if I keep doing this..ㅠ
For the time being, I think I’ll just get petit procedures..
