I am a very timid person. Even so, I had square jaw surgery and T-osteotomy surgery. From now on, I will write an honest review. I used to be overly fixated on my square jaw and lived hiding my face shape with my hair. But after surgery, I realized that hiding my face with my hair was the strange thing. I can now tuck my hair behind my ears and tie my hair up~ It makes me wonder how I used to go around hiding my face with my hair haha
Surgery review On the day of surgery, I was supposed to fast, not smoke, and not drink alcohol, but I broke the no-smoking rule... I got scolded.. haha I actually told the nurse that I had smoked one or two cigarettes, but in fact I smoked about five or six.. When the nurse said that if I did that I could not have surgery, I started to get worried, and because of that there was some waiting time. Once the surgery was decided, I took an air shower and lay down on the operating table, and because I am timid, I was trembling. The operating table felt so cold.. (I guess it just felt cold.) I got an IV, and then I lost consciousness as if I had passed out.. haha Because it was noisy and the nurse kept calling me, even though I did not want to wake up and was annoyed, I woke up! After that, I could not speak at all~ I have not read a huge number of plastic surgery reviews, but I had read a few, and most of them said it did not hurt that much or was bearable, so I felt so betrayed. The pain I experienced, should I say it was a stinging ache? It was pain beyond what I had imagined. My jaw hurt very, very much! The nurse gave me something called a pain-control injection to press whenever it hurt, and I had to keep pressing it.. I could not speak and was just pressing the pain-control injection like crazy,,ㅜㅜ My younger brother came to the hospital room lol I had held my younger brother's hand when I was a child, but since becoming grown up, I had never held his hand even once. But at that time, I held my younger brother's hand tightly and could not let go lololol That's how much it hurt.. ㅠㅠ My throat also hurt a lot. My voice became hoarse, and it stung, so I could not speak well. I was not allowed to drink water, so I held it in and held it in until dawn, when the nurse put a straw in a cup of water for me. Because my lips would not purse, it was hard to bite the straw, and I could not suck properly, so I struggled to drink it half air, half water.. The nurse came in at set times and changed the ice packs.. As time passed, I could feel myself getting better, and the pain also gradually subsided. I started speaking little by little and could go to the bathroom by myself just fine.
But if there was one most uncomfortable thing, it was the bed in the hospital room! This was truly the worst. I wondered if I was supposed to consider the hospital-room bed when deciding on surgery;; I knew I had to lie almost sitting up, and I guess that was necessary. But while lying almost sitting up, I could not even fully stretch out my legs. Later, even my knee joints hurt. I am not even tall (under 165 cm), but the bed length did not fit, and the bottom of the bed was blocked by a board. I told the nurse that it was so uncomfortable and that I could not straighten my legs, and she said there was nothing that could be done haha I cannot tell you how much stress that night gave me.. I could not sleep and just kept groaning haha I just wanted to hurry up and go home,, lol
The fear when taking out the blood drain... really.. haha It does not hurt that much~ Your face just scrunches up a bit, and it is like ah, sting?? Sting sting~ haha When removing the stitches! The fear about that was no joke either haha Even then it was just a bit stinging and that was it. Rather, after the stitches were removed, it felt refreshing~^^ After that, there was no pain at all, and except for discomfort with eating and sleeping, the swelling went down well. I also received good aftercare at the hospital, and now, except for a little residual swelling, it is healing very well~^^ It feels like it was originally my jaw, and I cannot remember the old one, but when I compare with old photos, I just find it amazing how it could become like this. And it seems the T-osteotomy surgery takes longer to recover from than the square jaw surgery. My chin still feels tight and uncomfortable, and there is a foreign-body sensation. As for my jaw, it is fine now even if I rest my chin on my hand or sleep on my side~ Personally, I recommend square jaw surgery, but I think it would be better to think a bit more about T-osteotomy surgery. Maybe it is because of my own anxiety though~ I will upload before-and-after surgery photos.
