It’s been over 7 years since I had double eyelid surgery and canthoplasty. Originally, I had a small double eyelid, but it started from about halfway across my eyes, so even when I drew eyeliner, it would all smudge. I only thought it was uncomfortable and had no intention of getting surgery, but I followed a friend and had the surgery after finishing the college entrance exam in my senior year of high school. I only had a consultation for double eyelid surgery, but on the day of surgery they said it would be good to do canthoplasty too, so I did both front and back canthoplasty. My eyes weren’t the type that could be opened up a lot to begin with, so they couldn’t widen them much and did it moderately, so no one notices the canthoplasty. As for the outline double eyelids, I originally had at least a small crease, so unless someone is pretty perceptive, they don’t really notice either. The disappointing part is that as time passes, the asymmetry is getting a bit more noticeable, so it feels like my original eye shape is coming back, but I’m still satisfied! Many friends around me have also had double eyelid surgery, and it didn’t look obvious; it looked natural. Compared with other surgical areas, it seems to have much fewer side effects, so if you want it, I think it would be okay to research thoroughly and get the surgery.
