I had the surgery in Bundang, and around March of that year, the clinic moved to Gangnam! It was a clinic where the director performed surgeries by himself. I had consultations at about four places in total, but not only were the costs very high, one place said I needed to do my entire eyes (honestly, what I had done now is almost the entire eye area too), and that if I didn’t, it would be better not to have surgery at all. They said the distance between my eyebrows and eyes wasn’t wide, so I would end up with eyes like Shindong’s.. And they asked for over 3 million won.
The clinic I decided on was one that had spread by word of mouth. After the CSAT, two friends I knew had surgery at that clinic, and they said the results were natural, so I went there. The cost was reasonably(?) fair too, and the director said he absolutely pursues natural-looking results, and even if I asked for bigger eyes, they still had to look natural........ so I ended up doing it there.
Only my eyes were anesthetized, but the anesthetic injections hurt so much ㅠㅠㅠ When I kept saying, “Ah, ah!” the director reassured me, saying it was almost done and that it was okay. After that, during the double eyelid surgery, all I felt was the nurse wiping something warm (probably blood?) and a pulling sensation. But before that, removing the fat felt stiff and painful, and the lateral canthoplasty hurt so, so much ㅠㅠ Compared to the lateral canthoplasty, I think I even dozed off a little during the medial epicanthoplasty?
When I’m in pain, I get irritated. I think I was getting annoyed about all sorts of things in my head ㅋㅋㅋㅋ During the double eyelid part, they had Cultwo Show playing in the operating room, so I was smirking while listening to it and even got scolded not to laugh..
After I came out, I was fine enough to walk on my own, but when I lay down in the recovery room and put an ice pack over my eyes, they started aching with a cold, stinging feeling. I thought it was because it was too cold, so I whined to the nurse twice asking her to change the pack because it was too cold..... I didn’t realize it hurt because the anesthesia was wearing off ㅠㅠ
Then, when the anesthesia had almost completely worn off, bloody tears pooled up, and my eyes were so swollen that I couldn’t see well. They also put tape on my upper eyelids. But it hurt so much I could barely walk.. Every vibration that traveled through my whole body when I walked made it feel like my eyes were going to burst ㅠㅠ
My dad took a half-day off and came to pick me up, but during the car ride home, I was in so much pain that I didn’t say a word. I couldn’t lower my head or even open my mouth.. But the pain was brief! After I got home, forced myself to eat, took the painkillers they gave me, put in the eye drops, and slept for a bit, I felt so fine that I wondered if I had even been in pain ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ After that, I even went around visiting universities wearing glasses without having the stitches in my eyes removed.
That winter, I had a double eyelid line, but it wasn’t very defined, so I asked them to do revision surgery, and after 9 months, they fixed it with the buried-suture method. They had promised from the beginning that if it came undone, they would do revision surgery, so they didn’t charge me separately, and the buried-suture procedure was also done under local anesthesia. But the buried-suture method hurt moreㅋㅋㅋㅋ During the surgery, the buried-suture method was more painful ㅠㅠ Maybe because it was revision surgery..
I came out right away with no recovery time and got on a bus. If the first incision surgery was a pain that felt like it would drive me crazy, the buried-suture one felt like a small, irritating pain that kept bothering my nerves?
Still, it settled well within a week, so I wore makeup and went around.. When I first had the incision surgery, someone who had never even seen me in person asked if I had double eyelid surgery just from looking at my profile photo, but now people don’t really notice even when they face me directly. It might be because one side doesn’t really form a line in the front, almost like an outline fold.. But I introduced a friend to that clinic, and seeing that the same thing happened to her too, I’m not sure whether it’s an issue with the clinic or with the original double eyelid fold.
My friend is dissatisfied with that part but is scared to have surgery again, so she’s just living with it, and I’m living satisfied because my eyes are much bigger than before. I wrote so much, but it just turned into a surgery diary.. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ If you have anything you’re curious about, I’ll answer as much as I know!
After losing weight, my bulbous nose looks so unattractive to me, so I made a Hiko nose-lift appointment for today, and I’m so nervous ㅠㅡㅠ
