I went for consultations about epicanthoplasty restoration and revision double-eyelid surgery, but after hearing the hospital’s explanation, I ended up undergoing incisional ptosis correction. However, in my case, the result was not satisfying, and looking back now, I wonder if it was too much of a choice for me. After surgery, much more of my irises became visible, and I personally feel like I may have symptoms of lid retraction. It has been 1 year and 5 months since surgery, but one eye is still swollen (personally, it is hard for me to tell whether it is swelling or scar tissue), and on the other side, the inner-front line is lifted, so I am also concerned that the two eyes look different. I keep feeling like my eyes are being opened excessively, which is uncomfortable in daily life as well. Most of all, there are times when I feel emotionally distressed because I think it may be difficult to reverse. That is why I am leaving this review. Please be very cautious when deciding on ptosis correction. Even if a hospital recommends it, I hope you think carefully about whether it is truly a surgery you need. Through my own experience, I also realized that expectations or desire for surgery can instead lead to unwanted results. This review was written based on my personal experience, and surgical outcomes can vary from person to person, so I hope you view it only as a reference. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through a hard time like I did again.
