I had the silicone removed on March 2. Since there was no information about my previous surgery, before getting on the operating table I asked them to remove everything if any cartilage other than the silicone had been manipulated. Tip suturing had been included in my previous surgery, but I said I wanted to keep that. They said they would reposition things because the line between the silicone removal and nasal tip might look unnatural, but in conclusion, I had no manipulation other than silicone + tip suturing. So I didn’t get any repositioning, and they just cleanly removed the silicone.
On day 1, my nose was like a Hallabong orange, and because cotton was packed inside my nose, it was hard to breathe while sleeping. From day 2 to day 5, I had to be careful because of the stitches from the open approach. Day 6, stitches removed. The swelling on the nasal bridge seemed to go down quickly. It was almost gone even when the stitches were removed, and there was only what I should call sagging? around the cheek fat area. I think all the swelling went down in about a week. I had only the stitches removed and did all my daily activities as usual. When doing makeup, the nasal bridge was fine, but the nasal tip stung even with the slightest touch; starting today, at week 2, the pain is gone. (There is still a little.)
At the moment, feeling-wise, I think all the swelling is completely gone. For those agonizing over it, don’t keep worrying and just go for it. I feel relieved.
(My original nose had a nasal bridge, was slightly bulbous, and was long.) The photo is after removal.
