Eye Surgery Reviews@eye-review

The director told us not to worry and to come after 6 months... if we don’t like it now, why...

Hello. The reason I’m writing this is to share what I went through so it may help many people who are thinking about revision surgery, especially those considering revision eye surgery, and those desperate people who are looking for a revision hospital while praying that this surgery will be their last. I hope you choose your hospital carefully, avoid failure, and make the right hospital choice. Since this is about my son, even writing this makes me cautious and hurts my heart. My son, who is still a minor, had surgery at a university hospital at age 5 for congenital ptosis, and we were told he could have it done once more when he was around high school age. The 2nd and 3rd surgeries were done at two different places near Apgujeong Station. The 2nd one cost 3 million won. The director only said what he felt he could do... and said it probably wouldn’t improve a lot. After the surgery, it didn’t improve much, but his eyes looked better, so we were happy, thinking, “At least this is something.” After about a year, it drooped a little, and because we wanted it lifted more, we had a consultation at another place near Apgujeong Station. Coming straight down from Exit 5, at a private clinic called Lee** that says it specializes only in eyes, we had a consultation.

Shock!!! 8.5 million won..,, He said he was confident. Everything could be done the way we wanted. He said he had done eyes the most. He asked my son which celebrity he preferred, searched them up and showed him, and said he would put the photo up during surgery while operating. He said there is a method only he uses. If he does it, it absolutely will not come down.~~ Ah, okay~~ When we asked, he said there is a method only he uses but didn’t explain it, so I thought maybe it was top secret hahaha..,. He said, “Even meeting me now is lucky for you.., the ptosis will be resolved, there will be no asymmetry, and the eyes will get bigger.” Honestly, I desperately hoped my son would no longer suffer and would escape from that tunnel of ptosis, and I think I really wanted to end it all in one go. Responsibility for what he said? Expectations because of the high price? I decided we should have it done here, and we did. But the result was as if nothing had been done.., The money was a waste and the time was a waste. It kept drooping, and whenever we called, they only told us to wait......,...... My son was frustrated and had a password-protected consultation on the homepage, but they scolded him for saying he would post it online. They said come and talk, then said don’t come and do it by phone, going back and forth~~ In the end, we just kept watching that director’s mood, and as the director said, we held it in....... and waited. When we went after 6 months, he got angry, hurt us, and humiliated us. When he said, “Who would do eyes like these if not me?” it felt like my breath stopped. I couldn’t look straight at my son’s face. I know there are children who have died by suicide because of their eyes,,,, I already feel so sorry that he was born with ptosis, and so sorry that it caused him emotional suffering his whole life, but to say that kind of thing to my son in front of his parents,,,,, I mean, did someone beg him to do it? Did he do it for free? Seriously, he said he was confident and that he could correct everything the way we wanted, so we paid a huge amount and did it???????!! Ah...,, those words are absolutely unforgivable. Aren’t those words that make you question his character? Can someone say that to a patient he operated on? We lost money, lost time, were humiliated, and my son, who has lived his whole life intimidated because of his eyes..., what is this? He had surgery with high expectations, but he was hurt and often says he wants to die after the surgery,,,

Is this normal? Are all plastic surgery clinics originally like this??? I’m confused, ... I think this kind of behavior by one person is the kind of behavior that makes people condemn even conscientious and skilled doctors all together. The consultation itself was different from the third one. I really wanted to fix it. Should we have a 4th surgery? After going through something like this, I can’t even bring myself to try. Should we not do it? The person who talked so big, when we went after 6 months, far from suggesting a solution, said it turned out well and asked why we were being like that, and if we didn’t like it, to file a lawsuit. Even the word lawsuit was said so easily by the director first from 2-3 months after surgery~~ When getting the consent form signed, he said, “It probably won’t happen, but even if something goes wrong, I’ll take responsibility until the end~~” Was that a lie!!!? Let’s wait!!! We trusted the director’s words and waited with real difficulty. But we are so hurt, so revision surgery is too frightening, and not doing it is also difficult. I don’t know what to do in the current situation. For now, we have received a medical opinion letter. I’m also thinking about calling a broadcasting station and asking them to cover this unfair story, and I’m thinking about posting it on the public petition board. I want to show how reckless a mother with a sick child can become when she is angry. Everyone, please research hospitals carefully and I hope you do not fail. If you meet a doctor who is skilled, has character, and at least takes responsibility for what they say, I think you won’t suffer this kind of double wound.... I hope you succeed
