I had been thinking about cartilage tying for over 3 years, but there were fewer reviews than I expected, so I’m writing this in hopes it helps~~ I had cartilage tying and hump nose surgery last October. I went around to several hospitals in person and had consultations, and you can check the other post I wrote for the places I visited, so please refer to that. My original nose was a bit bulbous and slightly spread out, so I wanted it improved very naturally without looking like I had plastic surgery. I absolutely didn’t want silicone, and I was too scared of side effects from autologous cartilage, so I had no intention of putting that in either, which is why I chose cartilage tying. Cartilage tying is done through an internal incision, so there’s no external incision, which was great, and needless to say I’m extremely satisfied with the effect^_^ Really, no one notices, but my impression has become more refined and neat! And because it became slimmer, I look like I lost weight. I realized the nose is much more important to one’s overall impression than I thought. But it’s so natural that even my dad doesn’t know I had surgery lol.. And I didn’t expect any height improvement, but it got sliiightly higher! So I’m satisfied with both the front and side views, and after 6 months passed, my nasal tip is no longer hard and is soft now. Also, during the consultation, I found out that I had a slight sideways-wide hump nose(?) (think of it as the middle nasal bone feeling wide horizontally). It was really something no one noticed, and I found out because the director caught it… So I wondered, do I really need to go this far? But then I thought, since I’m doing it anyway, let’s do everything at once, so I did the hump correction too. Super, super satisfied^^ It’s a subtle detail, but since it was refined, my overall impression really became cleaner. Anyway, for people considering cartilage tying, I hope you feel your own cartilage carefully, go around for consultations at several places, and decide~ When I touched my nasal tip, my cartilage was the type where I could feel a slight gap. And I think it’s important to go somewhere that has done a lot of cartilage tying. Rather than places that do general silicone or autologous cartilage surgery, I recommend a place that specializes only in cartilage tying! This is my personal opinion, but the more a place has performed cartilage tying alone, the better sense they seem to have… I hope this was helpful.
