My mother had surgery 2 years ago to open her tear duct. (It was not cosmetic surgery, but surgery to open a tear duct whose function had declined.)
After the first surgery, the tear duct was not opened properly, so she had revision surgery.
The problem is that after the revision surgery, the shape of her eye changed in an unsightly way.
According to the surgeon who performed the operation, it seemed that the surrounding muscles had stiffened and were being pulled after surgery. He ran various tests and performed a restorative surgery,
