I had 3 facial contouring procedures: cheekbones, square jaw, and chin tip. Because it was a private clinic, I really felt that the director cared for me more than the consultant did, and since it was my first plastic surgery, I was honestly worried, but because I didn't know much, I was able to go through with it without fear. The preoperative tests went well, and I also fasted properly before going in. When doing the final design, I consulted with the consultant and the director in even more detail than during the first consultation, and they told me what to do after surgery. The actual surgery seems to have started around 11, and I think it was around 3 when I entered the inpatient room after it ended. There was no pain at all after surgery, but I had severe sore throat from sedation anesthesia, and it was really hard not being able to drink water for about 4 hoursㅠㅠ This part may differ by person, but in my case, the pain-control infusion didn't work, so I struggled. But everything else was fine. The consultant, the director, and even the nurse who was in the operating room all came by, checked my progress, and even picked up my medication for me. And above all, the nurse on duty took such good care of me that on the day of surgery, that is what I remember most! From the moment I could drink water, I drank water and kept walking in the hospital corridor. I was in good enough condition to keep walking instead of lying down, and I kept drinking water as much as I could. I could go to the bathroom by myself, so I went on my own without issue. Lying down and sitting were both uncomfortable, so at dawn I got exhausted and slept for about 2-3 hours, but I kept waking up and falling asleep repeatedly. On the day of discharge, before seeing the director, I had the painkiller and IV removed. I saw the director and had my progress checked. The director personally did everything: removed the blood drains, dressed the sideburn area, and put on the compression band! (I heard many clinics don't do this.) On the day I was discharged, I was out of it, my body was tired, and I had no energy. For meals, I kept having New Care, and I diligently took the antibiotics and medicines prescribed by the hospital, used mouthwash, and also took the swelling medication I had prepared myself. Nosebleeds and bloody sputum lasted about 2 weeks. Maybe because of the general anesthesia, breathing was a bit difficult, so it was hard to exercise as much as before, but from day 3, I still tried to go out and exercise regularly, either by walking or going to the gym and using the treadmill. I have follow-ups on day 4, day 8, and week 2 (day 14). Each time I go, the director and the doctor who checks me explain everything kindly, from dressing through care, so I am taking good care of myself. At week 2, it hurt a little when the intraoral stitches were removed, but other than that, I don't think there was any major discomfort after surgery. As for sensation, my lips can open much more now and my pronunciation has become clearer. The sensation around my chin is still not fully back, and my cheeks are still a little numb. Still, I can feel sensation gradually returning little by little each day!
