Since I was young, my eyes were uneven, so I had surgery on only my right eye, which had no double eyelid, with buried sutures in my first year of high school. It came undone in my second year of high school. So I decided to get incisional surgery in my second year of high school, but the hospital that did the surgery said I had no fat and my eyes were the kind that didn’t need an incision, and that they thought they had sewn the first time incorrectly, so they said this time it would really settle into place and made me do buried sutures again. Because of the doctor’s insistence, I had revision surgery with buried sutures again, but it came undone again as soon as I got to university;
But that hospital kept pushing buried sutures again, so I got annoyed and went to another hospital. That other hospital also recommended buried sutures. No, I already said buried sutures had come undone twice and they still wouldn’t listen; So I got annoyed with that other hospital too and ignored them, then went to a place known for eye revision surgery, and even at that hospital they said my eyes didn’t need to be cut open, and that doctor also said we should avoid incision if possible and that buried sutures would be enough for my eyes, so I had buried sutures for the third revision surgery again, but it’s been 4 months since the surgery and it already smells like it’s coming undone again, seriously. Ugh. My eyes aren’t some place to practice sewing on. What even is thisㅋㅋ I don’t know why they keep forcing buried sutures on meㅋㅋㅋ.
Looking at my friends, even incisional surgery these days leaves no obvious trace and turns out really well. If you’re deciding between buried sutures and incision, just go with incision from the start. If it’s not one of those event-discount clinics but a reputable hospital, it seems like incisional double eyelid surgery is pretty much done well across the board, judging from my friends. They had it done once and it worked perfectly on the first try. Meanwhile I... I...ㅠㅠ If you don’t want to become someone who gets buried sutures 3 or 4 times like me, I honestly recommend incision or partial incision if possible.
