Silicone was placed from the nasal bridge to slightly above the nasal tip, and cartilage grafting was done at the nasal tip After rhinoplasty, I intermittently had a foreign-body sensation and tightness, but after 10 years, I even started having nasal spasms, so I struggled a lot That’s why I decided to have it removed The hospital where I had surgery must have had a lot of patients, because I had to wait 6 months just to get a consultation It wasn’t one of the top three famous places for nose removal, but somehow I felt like they would finish it more beautifully than other hospitals The review photos on their website looked pretty good My original nose was really unattractive, so when the directors at several hospitals told me that removing everything would make me go back to my original nose, I felt scared, worried, and hesitant. And among the hospitals I consulted at, there was one director who told me not to remove it because my nose would become too spread out and unattractive, and another doctor said it looked like the silicone in my nose was over 3 mm, so we should try revision rhinoplasty using donated dermis and donated costal cartilage But at the hospital I went to, after taking a CT scan and examining it carefully, the doctor said we should remove everything Since I also felt tingling pain at the nasal tip, they said it would be best to remove everything I didn’t want to go back to my original nose, so I asked whether we could leave only the nasal tip or at least make the tip not look spread out, but the doctor was firm and said that simply removing it would be better than now and that my impression would improve That made me really trust them. Even so, I did talk with the consultation manager while crying right up until the surgery But ta-da, I had total removal, and they put autologous dermis from my flank into the depressed area of the nasal tip, and placed AlloDerm (donated dermis) in the middle of the columella, which had collapsed because it couldn’t withstand the weight of the silicone, to support it Of course, because it was dermis, the change wasn’t dramatic When everything was first removed and the splint and nasal packing were taken out, my bridge looked very flat and my nose looked spread out, so honestly I regretted it again? But now that 7 days have passed, although my nose is still taped, the symmetry is better than before and it hasn’t spread out as much as I expected Of course it will get lower over time, but still, I’m very satisfied and I think I did the right thing by removing it Oh, and in my opinion, even after the swelling goes down, it’s prettier than my original nose To summarize, the surgery involved removing 2 mm silicone, removing nasal tip cartilage, reinforcing the columella with AlloDerm, and reinforcing the depressed area of the nasal tip with autologous dermis So far I’m very satisfied, and I’m absolutely not planning to touch my nose again Even if people around me say they want to do it, I’ll try to stop them Everyone Don’t live while holding onto pain; let’s live comfortably with the face we were born with And even if you remove everything, you can’t go back to your original nose They call it total nose removal, but... this is also reconstructive plastic surgery, after all
