It has been about 3 weeks since my surgery. The first reason I learned about the clinic was that I saw an article written by the doctor in charge in the newspaper, and I thought he must be someone with expertise in noses. Then I forgot about it, but this time I thought I’d just go for a consultation. In the end, I ended up going ahead with surgery.
Personally, I’m satisfied with the consultation and the surgical result. First, the consultation manager gave me a very detailed consultation and explained in an easy-to-understand way why alar reduction and other procedures suited my nose and how they would change it. I think it’s important to explain clearly to the consultation manager what parts you’re worried about and what result you want. I asked for something very natural and not too noticeable, and they suggested two methods so I could choose between them. Then I had a second consultation with the doctor in charge. It may vary case by case, but in my case the director confidently explained that there were definitely parts that could be improved, and since I agreed, we proceeded simply and finished.
During the first week after surgery, it’s hard to say there was no sign at all, but honestly it was clear, slightly swollen, and uncomfortable when smiling. The anesthesia hurt a little. These days I’m almost always wearing a mask, so my outside activities aren’t really affected. If you apply the ointment well as instructed, by week 2 the swelling goes down and it becomes more and more natural. By week 3, it’s almost unnoticeable, but people around me do feel that my overall impression has clearly improved.
If you’ve been worried about your nose, I recommend starting with a consultation. And this may vary by person, but personally I think alar reduction at least is something you can trust and do.
