Gangnam Review

I hardly talked with the manager during the consultation, and the doctor was extremely kind and carefully created various eyelid lines while consulting me. They are the type to recommend only what is truly necessary. This was the only hospital that recommended just an incisional-free buried suture method for me, so I chose this place. However, on the day of consultation, the staff were a little rude, but on the day I came in for surgery, they were very kind, so I was taken aback..ㅎㅎ On the day of surgery, they redid the design, carefully adjusted the line again, took pre-op photos, and even on the operating table the design time was quite long! I think it was over 10 minutes. The surgery was done with local anesthesia only, and the surgery time was about 30 to 40 minutes including the design time? It felt shorter than that, though.. During the surgery, they kept telling funny stories, so I had a hard time holding back my laughter..ㅋㅋㅋ It felt like I was just chatting with my grandfather and came back. It’s the first day, so there’s not much swelling, but I’m satisfied with the line. I’m a little worried it might become an overly natural double fold as time passes.ㅎㅎ I’ll come back to update the review later if I remember after some time~

+ Review at just under 2 weeks Until a little over 1 week, the inner corner of my eye hurt, so I worried that something might have gone wrong, but it’s healing well~ Since it was buried-suture surgery, the swelling wasn’t much from the start, so I was out and about from the second day~ Luckily I didn’t bruise much either! Most of the big swelling has gone down, so from my perspective it looks fine! My friends all said the double eyelid surgery turned out well, so I’m happy ㅎ As for the line.. I wanted an in-out line, but on my eyes it would have ended up looking like an overly natural fold, so they shaped it as a thin out line (is that called semi-out?)! It turned out as a thin out line like an in-out. Exactly what I imagined, very natural ㅎ I forgot to write this earlier, but even during surgery the doctor kept checking two or three times whether it was going well by having me open my eyes (every time one eye was fixed, and once again at the end of the surgery), and even when removing the stitches, the doctor came back after surgery and checked again, so I felt reassured! There’s no separate aftercare, just one ice pack and a prescription for medicineㅋㅋ They provide free AS for one year, and I was told that even after that, if something goes wrong, they would probably do it for just the material cost if I contact them! They’ve been operating here for over 10 years already, so... I don’t really worry about the hospital disappearing or anything. For reference, there were no special promotions or discounts here, and because they don’t take photos after stitch removal or after surgery, I didn’t ask separately about discounts. If I remember again later, I’ll update once more~

+3-month review The major swelling had all gone down by about 2 weeks, and now my eyes seem about the same as they were at around the 1-month mark! Just a little more swelling has gone down since then. At first I thought my eyes were a bit uneven, but the line heights themselves were similar, so I thought maybe my eye-opening strength was different. But as time passed, the lines became more and more similar, so it seems the swelling went down differently on each side! One side also had noticeably more swelling at first! I guess that’s why people say you should wait at least 3 months after double eyelid surgery. As I said, I’m happy with the line.. More than anything, my eyes became about twice as large as beforeㅎㅎ And because my pupils are much more visible, I’ve been told I look more pleasant, so I’m satisfied with the surgery! Also, before, when I opened my eyes fully, my eyelashes kept poking my eyes, so I used to walk around with only half-open eyes, but now even when I open my eyes as wide as possible, my eyelashes don’t poke my eyes! That’s the best part. If I had to name a downside.. the space between my eyes and eyebrows became much narrower than before, so my bangs keep getting caught between the folds, but that seems fine since I can just keep my bangs shorter than when I had no double eyelid! Other than that, I don’t think I’ve had any side effects so far. In the beginning my eyes felt a bit irritated, but maybe my body got used to it, because after about a month even that was completely gone. As for whether it shows.. I haven’t met anyone for the first time since getting the surgery! At least people I know say it looks naturally done.. I think I’ll know for sure only later when I meet more people! If I suddenly think of this community again after a few years, I’ll come back once more~

+2023.11.22 I came back because I suddenly remembered it after a long time! Actually, the review got lost once ㅋ so if I keep it short, people who didn’t know will be shocked when they find out, and friends who knew my face before surgery sometimes suddenly say the surgery turned out really well. They tell me absolutely not to go around saying I had double eyelid surgery ㅋㅋ they say no one would know if I don’t say anything. Sometimes the fold had become double, but only in special situations (like crying hard for about a week.. or getting atopic dermatitis in my eyes..), and if I walked around with my eyes wide open, the line stayed in place properly, so I think it was also because of the way I open my eyes. I’m completely satisfied. In many ways, my quality of life has improved a lot. Opening my eyes isn’t uncomfortable anymore..
